Just got word from SSE that they accepted my application to the Master in Finance. Thought I'd share my profile with you:

Bachelor from RSM, GPA 7.6/10. One year semi-related work experience abroad, exchange semester to WHU in Germany. GMAT 720.

Good luck to all of you, and see you in Stockholm hopefully! :)

Hey Guys!

My application on the website says: "Your application is being considered"

Do anyone know if this is the initial situation? Or is it another step in the process?

Got an email today that my application "not yet" has been selected for admission. I have a hard time understanding whether that means that they have assessed it or if I have been dinged?

It basically means they rejected you. I got the same email, but I was 99% sure that they won't accept me due to my low GMAT score.
They will still consider your application in the 2nd round, but due to the fact that competition will simply become more intense in the 2nd round it is not very likely that your chances of acceptance increase; unless you submit a higher GMAT score. (In case your current one is too low)

I was rejected today. My profile: U.S undegraduate degree( finance), Uk graduate degree( finance at Lancaster with scholarship, distinction up to now), Gre167/170 Q, overall325/340....with writing 4.5(80percentile)

Hi Erasmus,

I received the same answer to my application. I'll give you my profile.
I'm also from Sweden with a GMAT score of 700 (Q49, V36, I7 and AWA 5,5), which should be enough considering the average intake for the finance was 695 last year.
I'll give you my theory about the application process.

SSE wants to attract foreign top students (GMAT 720+, Bachelor from school with good rep, +1year exp) early, so SSE "skim the cream" from the application pool, giving green light to say maybe ten very good foreign students and wait for the rest until March. That's my two cents.

It is so sick how competitive SSE has become.

I`m curious, does anybody know other top schools in the Nordics?

Copenhagen Business School?

What about Stockholm University or Lund?

Hey guys,

also got admitted end of January.
I know first-hand that they review the applications all few weeks and send out admissions that are to be accepted within two weeks. So it is quite possible to hear already something before March. The fact that an application has "not yet been selected" consequently doesn't meen anything, don't worry:).
Looking forward to see you guys in Stockholm!

Congrats! I thought we needed to wait until mid March! Can you share your profile? Do you receive the admission by mail or checking the website?
