770 is what % of 2200
770=A*2200/100 (let it be A %)
A=35%
35% falls under category for number 3-4
(1) number could be 3 or 4.Not suff.
(2) adding 1 to number2/ 4/6 will take her to next level
where as adding 1 to number 1/3/5 will be 2/4/6 which is same level of %age winning
Combining both we get only adding 1 to number 4 will take her to next level of winning %age

Hello,

I am not being able to understand, that how could we infer about percentages in this problem? By reading the question, it feels that for getting 7 correct the amount is 2200. Nowhere is it mentioned that for getting different number of digits correct,the prize is different or unequal. For eg, for 2200 if 7 is correct, then for 1 correct it should be 2200/7.

now getting 770(35%) out of 2200 is not possible. Cause the values that one can get is (2200/7)*1 OR (2200/7)*2 OR (2200/7)*3 etc ....

Please correct if my understanding is wrong.

I think it is related to the probability of having x number of matching digits.

For instance;
Probability of matching 7 digits is the lowest percentage (p = 1/9*10^6) but 1-p = 100% of the price-winner,
Probability of matching one digit is the highest percentage but lowest percent of the price.
