I'm about to start at Tepper in less than a month. If you guys have questions, post them in this thread and I will try to answer as much as possible.
Hello
Purvil311 ,
Congratulations on getting the admit and thanks for helping us out.

Can you please brief your profile? Also, please help us with the below answers
1. What do you think helped you get into Tepper?
2. Did you use any consultants for the same? If yes, how was the experience?
3. How was your application experience and then the interview experience?
4. Any brief about your interview questions?
5. What are the things that you think distinguish tepper from other B Schools? I know it is more tech centric. But honestly, I am looking for the stuff that helped you justify why you need Tepper MBA?
6. As I am a re-applicant, so what do you think should I do in order to justify my new application.
7. Tepper has provided me fee waiver for the upcoming cycle, so how should I get the most out of it?
8. Any tips for us?
Thanks for all your help.

P.S: Guys, come and ask all your doubts on this platform.

Now for the questions -
1. What do you think helped you get into Tepper?I think meeting an adcom during a local MBA fair was one of the things that might have helped me. I kept in touch with her after the event and ended up scheduling my interview with her since we already had a rapport. Beyond that, just doing a good amount of research on the school helped me carry conversations before, during and after the interview.
2. Did you use any consultants for the same? If yes, how was the experience? No consultants used.
3. How was your application experience and then the interview experience?Application was pretty simple and straightforward. Interview experience was pleasant and very conversational. Do prepare for the usual behavioral (STAR) style questions. There are plenty of examples if you browse through threads from previous years.
4. Any brief about your interview questions?Like I said above, check threads from previous years. But here is a
link to mine.
5. What are the things that you think distinguish tepper from other B Schools? I know it is more tech centric. But honestly, I am looking for the stuff that helped you justify why you need Tepper MBA?One of the things I liked about Tepper was the smaller class size. The full time class has been around 200 students which is one of the smallest groups in the Top 20. Another thing is that CMU has a great reputation beyond just the MBA program, especially in the tech industry (which is where I am aiming to go). My interactions with students and adcoms had been very pleasant. When I met my future classmates during their welcome event, I could see myself spending the next two years with that group of people.
6. As I am a re-applicant, so what do you think should I do in order to justify my new application.I don't really have experience with reapplying, so I might not be the best to answer this. I would assume that highlighting how you strengthened your applicant profile since the last time you applied would be one thing to focus on.
7. Tepper has provided me fee waiver for the upcoming cycle, so how should I get the most out of it?That's great! I'm assuming this waiver is not dependent on the round you apply for. If so, just make sure you are confident in the quality of your application before you submit. Don't feel the need to rush for round 1 because there isn't really much difference between R1 & R2 for acceptance.
8. Any tips for us?Reach out to adcoms and try to attend local MBA fairs where Tepper is present. Research the school well so you can ask good questions during your interactions. Even though I did not do this, visit the campus if possible.
Hope that helped. Good luck!
