Yale SOM Calling all 2018 intake applicants - Class of 2020

Round 3 waitlisted applicant here. Will, in all likelihood, be a C/O 2020 applicant as well (though I am hoping not to be!). Hi, all!
We are in the same boat. Actually, I am in a slightly worse off boat than you are. I am a R1 reject. I have improved my GMAT and strengthened my profile quite a bit since then. Hopefully this is my year.
Hoping to hear some reapplicant feedback from Yale soon!

I'm still undecided about whether to apply to Yale. Hoping to visit over the summer.
yeah? I have heard really good stuff about the program. Especially from my background Yale is no-brainer. Do let us know about the visit!

Regarding the above -- I fell in love with SOM during my visit. Very integrated into the university, gorgeous building and campus, innovative curriculum, smart students, and -- above all -- everyone was just so nice! was not expecting this last part, but every interaction I had was just wonderul, from my interviewer, to the front desk receptionist, to the students I spoke with in passing. Hopefully a visit will clarify things for you, Aaliyah537.

I will be reapplying (3rd round reject here). Retaking the GMAT in August--feeling much more confident. Trying to bust into environmental sustainability so Yale is a no-brainer for me.

Yeah the forestry school looks great! How many of you guys are reapplicants?
edgeook8 you seem to have been waitlisted. Are you still waiting to receive a decision or ?
Glad to see I am not the only one reapplying. What did you guys think were your past mistakes/reasons you did not get the congrats email?

souvik101990 -- Yes, I'm waitlisted in Round 3. I was told that it was due to lack of space and that nothing was lacking in my application after I asked SOM to evaluate my application (this is something they offer to WL applicants). Not that I'm a perfect candidate by any means, but I've learned that in the third round there is sometimes simply no space. I am cautiously optimistic about my chances in future rounds if this one doesn't work in my favor for this reason (emphasis on the "cautiously").

Yeah seems like round 3 is a hit or miss for most people. I just got out of the Yale Mumbai Reception. Anjani Jain was there himself and he was really funny. Got to learn a lot more about the integrated curriculum than what's just there on the website. There were at least a hundred people in the session - the Indian demography at its brutal best. All in all I had a good time. There was great food as well but I couldn't enjoy that much as I left for dinner.
I asked a question about career goals prompt in the app dataset and got a decent response. I'll post more about the experience later in the evening.
