Hi Everyone,

I am a current business school student and would happily peer review your application essays for a small fee.

PM me if interested.

Best of luck with your applications!

Hi,

I would be applying to McCombs (Class of 2019)
Can anyone review my profile and let me know of my chances of being admitted.
I'm an Indian Engineering graduate.
GMAT: 710 (Q49,V37)
Work-ex: 4 years experience as a Field Professional in Oil & Gas Sector
ECA: A lot during undergraduate days, but not much during employment
Undergrad: B.Tech (Mechanical Engg.) National Institute of Technology Calicut
GPA: 6.96/10 (This is a bit of worry for me)

I shall be applying in R1 preferably.

Cheers,
Shashank

Hi Gang-

I'll be applying round 2 this year. Could someone (current students?) give me an idea if you have any classmates with a similar background or really give me an idea on my chances of getting in.

GMAT: 710 (Q48 V39 IR7 AWA 6.0)
GPA: 3.3 (graduate and undergraduate - not sure what the individual break out is off the top of my head. UT doesn't provide it to you, so I'll have to manually calculate them at some point)
Undegraduate Education: University of Texas 5 year Masters/Bachelors Accounting Program
Work Experience: 4 years in Big 4 Audit working exclusively on an integrated Oil and Gas client in Houston
Extra Curriculars: Fraternity and Silver Spurs leadership positions during undergrad; licensed CPA in the state of Texas
Post MBA Goals: Energy-focused investment banking in Houston

Thanks All!

Your background and goals fit well in the class, from what I have seen. It should be feasible for you to get in. Don't worry and just focus on putting your best into your essays etc.

Hello Everyone!
I am planning to apply to McCombs in Round 2.
My profile :
GMAT : 730
Work ex : 7 yrs in Hydrocarbon/Oil & gas sector EPC business at one of INDIA's biggest EPC firms
CGPA: 7.24/10
Extra circulars : Undergrad : Member of DEBATE committee, organised tech fest etc
Currently involved in company's CSR activities with several mini-projects.

Post MBA goals : I want to change my current field and get into strategic consulting preferably oil & gas sector.

Can someone please review my profile ? Also I had read that ROUND 1 is priority deadline for scholarships and fellowships..
Can any of current students active on forum provide info if scholarships are also granted in ROUND 2 ? And are any of students granted full ride at McCombs?

Are you sure, OP? This sounds rather dubious since aren't all scholarships based on merit? I could definitely see a priority going to R1 + R2 over R3, but what you said doesn't sound right (however, I don't really know enough about the process to properly dispute it).

From what I read last year...I think they give out most/all of their scholarships in Round 1.

Yep. Just submitted mine. Now waiting for the payment emails so I can pay. This school has a weird application compared to the other two I did (UCLA and CMU). Doesn't let you pay right after submitting and they dont take VISA :|
