I'm an international student trying to decide if visiting UNC during the open interview period (and scheduling an interview) would add a lot more value than just visiting the school after the open interview period is over but prior to submitting my application. Any thoughts?

If you're going to visit regardless I would highly suggest doing it during open interview. As long as you're prepared an interview is an excellent opportunity to showcase yourself to the school, especially if there may be some gaps in your profile that could possibly keep them from inviting you to an interview which you can account for in person.

Maybe some of you have encountered the same difficulties with this question on the recommendation form:

Please use the space below to elaborate on the candidate's qualifications

I asked the admissions office for clarification and here is there reply:
The section that invites your recommender to elaborate is just another opportunity to give specific examples that may not have fit into the other categories. It does not have to be completed.

Hope this is useful, good luck everyone.

Hi,

I was in your place last year. I traveled to attend interview and visit the school. It was great opportunity to show to the adcom how you want KF. More Importantly, I saw the school and the Chapel hill. I attended one strategy class. I encourage you to do so.

Hi,
I have applied to the Kenan-Flager MBA program and have been invited for an interview. While selecting date and time for the appointment date, I noticed that no time zone was mentioned. Should I use their local time zone and move ahead? I have not received a reply from Ad com for the same. Any suggestions?
