I attended an info session on campus. The adcom member clearly said they think 3 years is the "sweet spot" in terms of professional experience. 40% of their class this year is 3 years or less. seems like an open statement of preference to me.

I wish every other school thought the same :)

yikes, i'd have 5 years WE at matriculation but 26 y/o...can't help but feel i wouldn't be considered a "young" applicant by the 3 year WE standard :(

11 seats! Cool! Fresinha12, I hope they will reserve 2 seats for both :)

Got room for a third? They're filling up fast...

Guess we'll find out soon enough with the interviews coming up. Best of luck y'all.

I think the reason most other schools don't see it that way is who comes and recruits. I know half the events I have been to actually have work experience requirements. The one I was at last night actually requires 4 years of prior experience (they have GM, Marketing, and Finance jobs). I know a few I have seen have 3 years, but most that have requirements (which is more companies than you would think) want at least 4 and sometimes even 5 years. Of course if you want MC or IB its not as big of an issue.

The more interesting, compelling, or humorous you message the more likely I am to respond.

HBS goes after a younger demographic because they believe students get a higher ROI at that 3-5 year range. After that, its probably better to start looking at executive education options.....that's what an AO told me.
