There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
My recommender submitted her rec at 5:01pm (according to her clock)... do you guys think that automatically puts me in round 2? I can't find the official time of submission for recs anywhere, whereas the exact time down to the second that I submitted my actual app is on the main page.
My recommenders said something about being a reassurance that they could be a little late and it wouldn't hurt your R1 chances...they said they were pretty sure it was for Harvard...can anybody confirm?
Will HBS change the application status to "complete" once they have confirmed all materials were properly submitted? If so, has anybody's status changed to complete yet?
Don't know... mine's still in "submitted" status too. Does anyone know if we get an email when our status changes? Does it change to "complete" or "received" or anything?
Our plan is to begin inviting candidates to interview on November 12. All the interview invitations will not be extended in a single day. A significant majority of invitations will be issued by the week of November 17. In past years, invitations have been extended up to and including the date of notification; we expect this practice to continue.
The timing of the interview decision is determined by when a particular application is reviewed in our process; there is no relationship between timing and "strength" of application. Interview invitations are not released in alphabetical order, by geographic location, or according to the date it was received. Interview invitations are sent via email and contain complete instructions for logistics.
This Bell-curve scares the heck out of me..I graduated in '99 though people my age graduated in '02...but nonetheless..it seems i am fighting walker for one of those 11 seats..
I graduated in '03, but people my age graduated in '02. Don't forget, that all shifts over for this year, assuming they keep the same age preferences. Really shows that I am in an extremely competitive group...within an extremely competitive group. I would be interested to see what percentage of applicants fall into each bucket.
Hey guys, just in response to the above posts, my status still says "Submitted". I submitted everything (and my recommenders to) one day before the deadline. I guess the status of "Submitted" is normal ...
I attended an info session on campus. The adcom member clearly said they think 3 years is the "sweet spot" in terms of professional experience. 40% of their class this year is 3 years or less. seems like an open statement of preference to me.
