Hi
Teoh,
I personally feel taking written notes isn't really helpful, since the biggest constraint is time, taking mental notes work better. Writing everything on paper and then re-visiting those points to tally the options eats lot of time. Instead while reading the argument at first go make a mental note of premise and conclusion. Don't move ahead until these two are clear in your head. Then read question stem, after deducing the question stem apply a little prethinking, as in if it's a strengthen question what additional information could help to make the given conclusion more stronger. But, do not spend much time on prethinking as your area of processing can be timid or wide based on your knowledge and since you need to complete the question under 2 minutes, you can't use much time on this area. Now jump to the options and cross-verify each options with mental notes you have taken.
I am aware since you are comfortable with jotting down to solve question, the technique of mental notes won't come easy, it will take some time to build. Key is lot of practice, try this technique without time constraint first, after a rigorous practice when you are comfortable in solving each question mentally, start practicing in timed environment.
You can jot down points only when it is a parallel reasoning question because then you need to keep track of chronology, i.e. A->B or A->B->C, which is minimal writing, and this helps figuring out option easily.
Further, you can use CR Bible from powerscore to learn detailed instructions for acing CR questions. This book is gold.
It is easier said than done. It takes a lot of practice, for me it took months to excel this strategy but the effort is worth it.
Hope this helps you mate. All the best!
