I think you were over qualified. Why should they accept you when your profile sounds like a Harvard/Stanford/Wharton profile? They probably thought you were applying to them as a safety.
Do you think that the school can allow to pursue a policy in which it will ding all extra strong applicants based on the assumption that they are backing up their chances by applying to Emory?
This closing sentence is particularly striking: "If in the next year you have additional information which you feel would
strengthen your application, we welcome you to re-apply to Goizueta."
