I have been checking on the status of my app in Opus frantically but it's pretty obvious what the outcome of my app is gonna be. Anyway, results will be made known in another 24 hours' time...the wait is finally coming to an end !

Gmat 750, gpa 4.0, winner of the nation wide olympiad on economics, distinction by the highest state officials, international work experience with stress on business development and non-profit, recommendation letter provided by the former minister of the environmental protection - not even invited for an interview. Amazing, what could have been wrong with my profile?
Honestly, a bit surprised. I had a great interview and felt I did a good job establishing the "fit." Pretty disappointed, but feel lucky to have a great offer in hand and potentially two more coming.

I think you were over qualified. Why should they accept you when your profile sounds like a Harvard/Stanford/Wharton profile? They probably thought you were applying to them as a safety.

Congrats to those accepted!

It's on OPUS. I just logged in and checked my application status and it had a reject letter.
Ouch, I got dinged as well. Guess I should've applied to more than one school lol. I thought Emory was a perfect fit. C'est la vie. Best of luck to everyone!

Do you think that the school can allow to pursue a policy in which it will ding all extra strong applicants based on the assumption that they are backing up their chances by applying to Emory?
This closing sentence is particularly striking: "If in the next year you have additional information which you feel would strengthen your application, we welcome you to re-apply to Goizueta."
