Live Essay Writing Workshop, presented by Admissionado


Sigh. The MBA Application essays. Who thought it was a good idea to ask people to write 2000 words before they even get INTO school? Turns out, it doesn’t matter, because someone did… and now you have to come up with the most compelling and memorable essays about leadership that you can. And then do it again for every school you apply to.

It’s not easy, but this upcoming event should help. Submit your MBA Application essay to have an opportunity to have it reviewed for free by the team at Admissionado. Three essays will be selected, and if you are one of the lucky ones, you will have the opportunity to go through your essay with Phillip Herring (admissions expert and CBS MBA) in a live session. You will need to be OK with sharing your essay with attendees (don’t worry – we’ll keep your name/private info out of it), and available and online at the time of the event to chat it up with Phillip. Even if you aren’t selected, listen in, because there will still be plenty of essay advice to go around.

Has anyone received scholarship / fellowship info? My email noted that any such info would be included in the mailed packet this week -- but figured I'd check with all of you.

Nothing yet for me. My email said the same, but the admitted student web site says to get in touch with adcomm if you haven't received the packet by January 2.

I got my binder sent fedex in the mail today. Scholarship info was included in the binder, prior to receiving the package there was no other mention of schol info.

Got my binder in the mail today. $50k scholarship and an offer to be a graduate assistant worth another $35k. Basically a full ride, which would be really tough to turn down. I think they've convinced me.

Guys...needed just one help/clarification. I'm applying beofre the 5th Jan deadline and am almost done with my essays. A sudden thought about the line spacing struck me today. Since the essay instructions do not say anything except for "limit each essay to 2 pages", I have used 1.5 line spacing in my essays. Does it have to be double-spaced? Kindly let me know asap coz if it does, there is a lot of pruning I'll have to do :(

I also used smaller than double spacing and there were no problems. Good luck on your application.

It would be a waste if you don't take this full ride. I think with full rides, means you are more flexible in your future goals etc. Maybe chase after a JD or such after, to increase your pay package etc. Which you can't do if you have loans weighing you down....
