How many people have decided to matriculate? I'm debating between kelley and UW Foster, both with about the same scholarships.

I'm still waiting to see if I get off the waitlist at Booth, but if I don't I'll be matriculating at Kelley. I might go to Kelley even if I get into Booth, but I don't need to make that decision yet obviously. I was waitlisted and then admitted to Ross, but I've already turned that down. Ross's poor job placement numbers scared me away, and I just felt really comfortable at Kelley. The full-ride scholarship I got offered from Kelley didn't hurt either :)

If I were you, would go with Kelley. No second thought.

Congrats on the scholarship! I met a few people during my recent campus visit who turned down the likes of Ross and Fuqua to attend Kelley. I also felt very comfortable at Kelley, much more than at any other school I visited. I think even if I get into Yale (my #1 choice) I might attend Kelley because the school culture is just amazing.

I noticed the same thing when I was there. A lot of people turned down offers from quite a few top 10 schools to go to Kelley. I was also really impressed with the classroom visit, all the students were really engaged. Quite of few of the other schools I visited people were on Facebook and shopping on their laptops in the rows in front of me.

...wait, he must. He can't do anything, but wait for the adcom to make their decision, send him an invite!

"But i have been waiting for more than six weeks," he says.
"You must have faith in the kelley adcom system," a voice says.
"But but but...,"
"But what?" the voice says. "Besides you wouldn't want the kelley adcom to make a wrong rush decision, would you? Like dinging you?"
"I understand that, its just that, this waiting has tripled my blood pressure. Likely that i will spend the proceeds of an MBA buying medication for high blood pressure."

And so, he waits. Yes, wait he must for the adcom to take action....

When I visited Kelley one of the adcom members noted that Kelley has one of the broadest ranges of GMAT scores and GPAs among their admitted students and were proud of it. I also met students from all sorts of different backgrounds. Kelley adcom is a very open-minded outfit and they have a lot of applications to look through; don't lose hope just yet!

I interviewed with Brad couple of weeks back. All standard questions. One big miss was 'Why Kelley'. Though I tried to cover up for that in the follow up questions that I asked, still not sure what to read on it. Any one with a similar experience?

Hi All,

Congrats to all those who got admitted and all the best to others who are still in queue.

I am also planning to apply to Kelley MBA Fall 2013 program but my concern is I have heard Kelley is good b-school for Marketing. However, I am interested in Management/ Strategy Consulting, so I would like to know how are the employment opportunities in this field for Kelley students.

My Profile:
GMAT: 680
Work Ex: 3 years in IT (at the time of admissions)
GPA: 3.97

Any other info will be highly appreciated.

Please share your valuable thoughts at the earliest.

Thanks in advance.

i haven't lost hope. It's just that putting kelley on my 'interview invite' list, removes pressure on my top two, ross, booth, and also uiuc...where i'm already invited to interview. I want kelley, olin, as my other options.

Kelley is indeed a great Marketing school. I think even a casual glance at their career statistics will show that they place very well into consumer products and other marketing positions. The Kelley website says that 17.2% of their grads go into Consulting and I think Deloitte hires a fair number of Kelley grads (but Deloitte hires almost everywhere) but I haven't really seen anything to suggest that Kelley places particularly well at other major consulting firms. If you're looking for a similarly ranked school which has better consulting career stats, you might want to also take a look at McDonough (Georgetown). Consulting is one of their fortes and they've had recent luck placing grads into BCG, Booz Allen, Deloitte and a few other firms.

Hi All!

For those of you who have already interviewed, was the interview "blind"? I can't seem to find the answer on their website.

My apologies if this was already discussed on this thread and I missed it!

Thank you!

I do not think it was discussed before. My interviewer did not know anything about me.

Mine was blind, too. My interviewer pretty much only knew my name before the interview.

My interview was blind as well with a second year student. Nothing out of the ordinary and similar to what others are saying.
