Thanks tinkered! I must admit I was crushed when Kellogg dinged me in Rd 1. Decided to have a break and submitted my Duke application from a holiday villa in Bali.

I was just thinking if should take that trip to Bali I've been dreaming about. Then I saw your post. I guess I'll use my deposit money to take that trip and try again next year

yes I received an email, but I was driving, so in the end the call was before I could read the email.

highwyre237, have you done anything to try to get yourself off the waitlist from Fuqua? It seems like you are really into Fuqua. I like Fuqua a lot too, and was surprised to find out that I am waitlisted. But I feel I have no energy to fight to get in at this point. I don't know how much of difference a Fuqua MBA and a Johnson MBA can make for my future.

So I haven't had time to go through past posts to see if anyone else had this...

I was just waitlisted to the next round and invited to interview (future email to come to schedule interview on campus). Does anyone know if this has happened a lot or what the deal is?

Who cares how often it happens? You have the interview invite! Congrats and now is your time to show your stuff so you can turn that WL into an admit!

I feel your pain. I've been working for nearly 5 years.. built up a decent amount of life's savings. It's hard to swallow the entire cost that this 2-year journey will take - a large debt is no joke.
Which is ALL the more reason to maximize every resource and squeeze out every little bit of fun/education/perk/relationship from this endeavor. No coasting here!

Exactly. Go big or go home. Find somewhere where it'll be worth it to potentially eat ramen for the next few years just to make ends meet ;) but more so, find somewhere where there's free food everywhere so you don't have to spend 75 cents that you don't have on ramen lol

This is unusual, really. I would reach out to whoever made that "promise" phone call to you and at least ask for some explanation. Or you can contact the Admissions office and tell them the story. They should give you a reasonable explanation about this strange action.

Same with job interviews, I'd rather get rejected after a quick phone interview than after going through multiple onsite rounds.
