Wow! Others have answered that question but that is by far the most comprehensive and clear answer. Thanks NonYankee!

You're welcome! After dinner I simply got in bed and started reading the handbook, intermittently dozing off... I'm quite the party animal!

One takeaway from the above info that might give people hope: Booth awards one scholarship OR fellowship to admitted students... meaning that there's still a chance for those without $$$ to get some! :)

Excited to be a part of this thread! how many of you are planning to attend the welcome reception on Thursday evening (Apr 18th)? I'm just wondering if it's worth taking the extra day off work, or if Friday & Saturday will be enough.

I'll be there, but the decision was pretty straightforward for me: I live in the Chicago area and I have a non-paying job with an irregular work schedule!

I hope to see you there!

I'll be there too. I have to imagine there will be another "informal social event" (heh) afterwards as well... just more opportunities to start gelling with people.

Just a contrasting opinion, I went to R1 admit weekend and I don't think it's necessary to attend the Thursday night reception if it requires you to take another day off. Since we have 2.5 weeks of orientation - I think we'll have plenty of chances to meet people. Also, I don't think they create that event to encourage people to get there by Thursday night, I think they do it so people who do happen to arrive by then aren't twiddling their thumbs in their hotel room!

So that's my opinion. But I do everything I can to protect my vacation time because I like to travel as much as I can. Depends on how precious that vacation time is to you.

Hi guys,

I'm coming out of the woodwork! Have been a long-time lurker on the forums, but now that I have a Booth offer I'm going to be a lot more active here.

Welcome! We're glad to have you! Do you plan to attend ASW and/or matriculate?

Thanks! I'll definitely be attending ASW and I'm 70% likely to matriculate at Booth.

A question to those who attended the R1 ASW and current Boothies - if I were to only pick one day of the two, which would everyone recommend? Is Friday typically a lot livelier?

This is a rather quiet thread for one of the world's finest schools! Is everyone still out celebrating?

Is anyone attending the NY admitted students event on Wednesday?

Yeah we could definitely turn it up. Anyone else hiding out back there?

Coincidentally, I actually did just get done celebrating with my wife. Over frozen yogurt. Hashtag grown.

I'm in Boston so I'll be at the event on Tuesday. Htale not sure if you saw, but someone mentioned on the main FB group that he set up a group specifically for NYC admits, you may want to check that out. And congrats!

So how soon can we expect to receive our admit packs? Does it contain those fanciful merchandises given by other schools? :-D

They mailed R1 out pretty quick. A week to ten days depending on how far the packet had to travel.

Just one little trinket as far as merchandise goes..I won't spoil the surprise..
