Did you (or any of the other admits from last year) do the Table of Contents Essay? How did you tackle it? Quite honestly, I haven't started the essays because this one terrifies me.

How are the apps coming??

I've been super busy here! Core classes have just started up, but I have been busy with career panels, leadership discussions, social events.... social events... and social events... The life of an MBA in their first month at Johnson is crazy! Anyway, feel free to ask any questions about life at Johnson so far, or anything else, I'll be around today and will try to stop by every few days.

Good Luck!

Hey highwyre, glad to see you back. Sounds like Johnson is keeping you busy!

I'm just about to start working on my essays - the mandatory ToC essay kinda has me scared. I have the application +/- complete.. that was the easy part.

Thx for stopping by!

SEEKING ADVICE :

Can we submit a ppt / powerpoint presentation for the Life Story question? I was aiming to do something creative but I'm not sure if it is within the rules of the essay.
My idea was a ppt which has a timeline with key stages in life marked with a 'shape'. Pointing at the 'shape' will drop down the intended text. THIS TEXT is within 300 words.

Make sense??

Although you may be able to use ppt to create your TOC, I highly doubt animation/interaction can be part of it in anyway. Although I know johnson has moved (or tried to move) to an electronic form of review, I would assume they still view these apps as one large PDF file.

If you are unsure I would reach-out to adcom.

Putting my name in the hat for round 1. Doing TOC as a re applicant is brutal. How can my life's table of content change in few months?

That is a good point. I have no idea how I would address that as a re-applicant. Hell, I don't even know how to do it as a regular applicant.

With regards to essay 2 (see below), do people think the second part is more about a time we led something or what we did to initiate going to Cornell for our MBA?

Essay #2 “Who you turn out to be”

Instructions: Please answer the following three questions in abbreviated format. (Keep each answer in 150 words or less)

Ø When did you decide that business school was the next step for you? (Was this an epiphany or an evolutionary process? What was the catalyst that caused you to consider this next step?)

Ø Johnson values people that make things happen for themselves. Give an example of how you have initiated this for yourself.

Ø Please describe your immediate post MBA career goals.

In which of the essays do I mention why Johnson? I feel these short essays don't give me enough room to talk about Cornell. Any suggestions?
