Mhh... I know what you mean and I guess we are all in the same boat.
In my case for example, I know for sure that I will not move forward in any way within those next 6 month until I resign! My Boss reminds me pretty much every single day about that :D
So I would recommend to maybe do something extracurricular that fits to your specific career Goals???
I'm on learning another language, since my announced career Goal was/is to relocate and gain flexibility.
But to be honest, I guess the best advice would be to get used to the idea that we are not being accepted (no offense we are all in the same boat...). Took me a while, but life goes on...

Think even MIT said in one of their transcripts that they recommend to accept offers from other Schools / apply to more when waitlisted since the outcome is rather uncertain (by means highly unlikely).
And unlike in the application process, this time there is a lot of luck in the game. Let’s say you fit into xy category, so someone (or more People than in previous years) with a similar xy Background Need to reject the offer.
