Anyone have insight on what the chances of getting off the waitlist are?

Sloan's my top choice. I'm striving to get off the waitlist, but trying to keep things realistic.

We haven't seen the yield yet for R1 or R2, so there's no way for us to know. However, my gut feeling is that this year will be tough. It seems like applications have risen this year.

I don't have any numbers to back this up...just my gut feeling.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding was that all R1 WL applicants will be reconsidered along with R2 pool. This means that your chances of getting in from WL are roughly the same as if you applied in R2.

I think that is correct. I was just looking into the future if your decision ends up being "waitlisted some more."

Here is my take. ...I think there are probably around 150-200 waitlisted candidates from Round One. 50-75 of those were interviewed and then waitlisted (me!) and the rest received a waitlist invitation but didn't interview. Perhaps 30-50 of the latter will interview for Round Two consideration. Judging from Sloan's avg. class size (375), its avg. yield (70%), likely first round offers to get half its class (250), and past "Waitlist chat transcripts," I think they will make 25 offers on April 1st to waitlisted candidates from Round One. Past that, perhaps they make ten or so additional offers in May/June and a few in July. Again, this is simply based on my powers of guesstimation. Regardless, good luck to all! Sloan seems like it's worth the wait.

I just realized that I completely missed the boat on the "Optional Information" section of the application and I didn't submit anything for it in my original application. Do anyone else skip this? I'm thinking maybe I should do something and send in a link as an update.

I did. I sent in two updates. One late December one late January. I didn't have any big updates so mostly just continued to show my interest. I also went to the campus in December to meet the admission team.

Hoping to kick ass in the interview :)

So with deadline day tomorrow, just want to confirm my understanding.
If we don't get an interview invite by tomorrow end of day then our chances of getting in become even more slim. We are basically then dependent on those people who have gotten into Sloan but do not accept by April 1 deadline for Round 1 admits at least.

I think that's correct. You're in a tough spot. Would you give up your spot at Ross for a change at Sloan?

It's something like that, but it isn't a process set in stone, so there is a bit of fluidity.

Yea it's a tough spot - except I have until May 1 for Ross so bit of leeway there.
If I don't see any positive movement by April I will sign up with Ross unless Haas comes through :)
