Didnt the admissions officials mention in the waitlist chat that candidates who have been waitlisted in Round 2 will see the same status(i.e. waitlisted) on Apr 1?

I don't know if this is helpful, but in the waitlist chat they said:
wchen7850: Beyond April 1, are there any other firm dates that the admissions office will be releasing updates on candidates' admissions status?
Jen Barba: wchen: If you've been put on the WL without an interview, you will not receive an updated decision on April 1. Our plan is to consider the whole WL after R2 decisions go out, and determine what additional interviews might need to take place, toward the end of April, once we have results from R1 and R2 decisions.

Becca - Admissions: Hi lili, we placed approximately 100 people on the WL from Round 2. We released many of our WL on Friday so the number did not grow much. If you did not receive an interview invite for R2, you will not be reviewed by April 1st whereas Round 1 WL applicants may

Becca - Admissions: Hi LSharma, we should know by late April if we will conduct additional interviews.
So it sounds like:
R1 w/ interview - Will hear an update on April 1
R1 without interview - Could potentially hear an update on April 1
R2 w/ interview - Assume you are a normal R2 candidate so should hear an update on April 1
R2 without interview - Will not hear an update on April 1. Will know if more interviews will be conducted in late April

If I was WL with Interview R1 and the update on April 1 says I'm still on the waitlist, should I assume I'm going to be placed back in the pool of applicants to be reviewed for R2?
