quick question: In the question "What is the contribution to the world that you would most like to be remembered for?" are we supposed to talk about a past contribution (highly unlikely, given the applicants' age group for this prog.) or some future contribution that we hope to make?

I would guess future.

For our second homework assignment in the LBS MBA, we were asked to write our own eulogies (as it would be delivered from someone else) and one of the things you'd generally cover is what you are remembered for.

Yup I agree - its gotta be future. Unless there is some deeply meaningful story behind an achievement in the past.

oh thats the fun part :) ... since I'm based in Riyadh, I said Riyadh or Jeddah or Dammam. all cities in Saudi Arabia. So if miraculously somehow I get short-listed, I am bound to be asked to travel unless they have someone alumni here in Saudi Arabia (highly unlikely in my opinion).

btw, I am not a saudi or an arab.

I'm currently scheduling my interview. Guys, could you explain what that means:
".... You should also note that all candidates are now required to do a 5-minute impromptu presentation as part of the interview. Your interviewer will provide you with a topic on the day."

Any advice and fresh experience?

That means the interviewer will give you a topic, give you 3-5 minutes to prepare a presentation, and then you present on the topic. The topic is similar to the questions you get on the GMAT AWA. The topic given to me was a statement by a Nobel laurette and whether I agree or disagree.

Hope it helps. Good luck for your interview.

Hi,

Just to make sure, is it possible to write some points as I prepare to present or should I memorize my presentation?

Cheers

When interviewed last year for the full-time MBA, I jotted down my speaking points and spoke off of that. I did not memorize it.

I'd suggest that it's a better use of your time to think about how to structure your argument concisely instead of memorizing it.
