Hi Everyone,

First of all, congrats to everyone who got admitted to HKU.

I was just offered admission from HKUST after an interview 2 days back. However, it seems to be a conditional offer where i need to send them my transcripts and degree certificate.

Did anyone get this kind of offer or is the the regular offer they send to everyone.

Hi vikkyvik

I got the same kind of offer as you received, and thus have to send my transcripts and degree certificate to admissions office.

I think it is a typical offer.

Hi IKURAXX...That is a relief, thank you.congrats on your offer...so do you know if we have to send the original degree certificate or just a photocopy. If a photocopy, do we have to get it notarized or witness signed.

By the way, to answer rishuoberoi's question... I am an Indian admitted to HKUST. Do you have any insights on any followups that we might have to do to obtain visa and other stuff.

Hi vikkyvik

They required me to send my "official" transcript and degree certificate. So, I got the documents in signed sealed envelopes from my alma mater and am going to send them soon.

IKURAXX,

Thanks! Did you receive the offer acceptance letter by post. I saw in their admissions website that the letter will be sent on an email. But in the admissions offer letter it was mentioned that it will arrive by postal mail.

Cheers

Hello vikkyvik,

Though I have not received the offer acceptance letter by post yet, I have received a soft copy of the offer letter by email. When I had a phone consultation with an admission staff member yesterday, I asked her to do so because it may take the offer letter some time to arrive at my mailbox.

You can also require them to send a soft copy of your offer letter.

Cheers

Re: HKUST 2011-2012 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
I read in an article that North American and European candiDates have an advantage for applying to HKUST and other Asian schools,
as they want to attract students from western countries. Can anyone comment on this?

If two candidates one from
Asia, the other from the US had similar stats, or even if the
US candidate had slightly lower stats, would the US candidate
be considered more favourably?
