C.

78) Ignorance is not equal to stupidity, since you can often correct ignorance but the same is not true of stupidity
(A) since you can often correct ignorance but the same is not true of stupidity
Not parallel. You is not parallel to stupidity.
(B) because it can be corrected and the other cannot
Unclear.
(C) for ignorance can often be corrected but stupidity cannot
Clear and correct.
(D) because of the correctable nature of ignorance
Says nothing about stupidity.
(E) because the two differ regarding ability for correction
Wordy and unclear which is correctable.

OA is not clear to me at all.

I simply choose C after 10 second because of the existence of comma. When subordinate clause go after the independent clause, SC will not need the comma before it.

Recommend: you should read more about coordinator FANBOYS (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so) and subordinate clause.

Hope that help

"for ignorance" makes the sentence weird.

+1 for C.

"for" here is acting as "because".

Ignorance is not equal to stupidity - independent clause
ignorance can often be corrected but stupidity cannot - independent clause

Both the independent clause must be added with FANBOYS word. hence C is correct.
Cheers!

+1 C

(A) "since" doesn't mean "because" in SC. Only in SC!
(B) "and" is wrong. we need "but".
(C) "for" means "because". Right.
(D) The meaning is not complete.
(E) It is not clear.

Nope it doesn't. the word "For" is used in the form of because. Just as the word "As" can have multiple meanings, the same goes with the word "for".
