Congratulations to all those who have been accepted to the class of 2016 at Owen (Vanderbilt)!
Hello Everyone,
As the Owen EA round Deposit Deadline (12th Dec) comes to an end, and R1 decisions being rolled out.....I thought of starting a blog for admitted students and prospective applicants to gain first hand, quality and true information about Owen: INFORMATION THAT MATTERS!
I invite anyone and everyone to participate and share information about the MBA program at Owen: Curriculum, Professors at Owen, The Leadership Program (Korn-Ferry), recruiters, Career services team (led by Read McNamara).....This will help all of us to make a better informed decision.
I also invite any Owen current students and alumni to join the blog and share their experiences and perspectives!
Critique, Feedback, opinions, suggestions - All are Welcome!!!
Cheers :-D
Roll Call
NOTE :- The above list updates automatically as and when applicants update their application Status. If your name does not appear in the list, please check and update your application status or post in this thread.

I was accepted in the early round and submitted my deposit in December. I can't wait to get down to Nashville and meet my fellow classmates. Anyone planning on going to the admitted students event in April?

Great buddy!! Even I am very eager to join Vandy, but Canada is very flexible with immigration. So I may eventually go to Rotman. Still waiting for Rotman's decision.
Let's see whether I become a part of wonderful Owen Class of 2016.

There are lot of places near campus and there r students who don't have a car. u can talk to current students during welcome weekend & explore nearby options. U can join FB page for MBA Class of 2016 and connect with future classmates & current students.

Can anyone give some suggestions on where to live? Don't plan on keeping my car during the first year, Is that a bad idea?

Thanks for your reply. Requested to join FB page already and waiting to be added.
To be honest, find the apt within walking distance to Owen is kind of overpriced LOL.

You have to pay the premium. You will save money on Car insurance, gas, parking etc. & u will pay for apt rent.

Nashville is not that cheap anymore. especially if u wanna stay near campus I think Vandy should think about on-campus graduate accommodation. I see prices going north in coming years.
nankaizheng wrote:
Well, that makes sense. But still ~1K per month? I would expect to pay that if I live in LA or Chicago lol

Okay I admit I've never lived in these major cities b4, used to think 1k shall be enough for sharing an apt. Anyway, besides housing, what else do we need to think about now? lol

Downtown/Vanderbilt Area does seem to have gotten much more expensive. You can google an Owen living guide from a few years ago. A 2 bedroom seems to cost $2,000 now, at least in the places that come up first on google.
