Can we bring computers or pad in TBD?

No you can't bring computers. They provide pens, paper, a table and chairs. That's about it.

What about research/info we found?

You can bring a folder I guess. Honestly, I didn't need any of the notes I used to prep. If your proposal is not chosen, the research and info is not important. I would also shy away from over preparing because you do not want to completely dominate the conversation. The goal of the TBD is to come together and find a solution to a problem/task.

Guys, interview on Monday, any tips for the one on one? What do they normally ask in a 15min 1-on-1?

Anyone from Asia-Pacific attending the Singapore Wharton cocktail event thing for TBD candidates?

Also, would be interested in grabbing a drink/meal with others after the first TBD session on the 28th in Singapore.

Send me a PM if keen.

I'm attending the Singapore cocktail event and am also part of the 9:30AM TBD on the 28th.

To anyone who has gone to previous TBD cocktail events - are these business formal events or should you dress a bit more casually (tie/no tie?)?

Hi all,

I am a first time poster excited to be doing the TBD. Can someone who has done it or knows the answer please confirm if we are to get up and present the agreed upon idea and the end of the 35 minutes. Or do we just look to come to an agreement / time runs out? And I guess is it a flexible 35 minutes - seems a bit short.

Did my interview yesterday. The TBD is very relaxed. There is NO need to stress over this. I literally prepped my 'idea' in the five minutes before the discussion. You have 1 minute or so to present your idea, so nothing complex. The rest is just about being a friendly teammate and contributing to the ongoing conversation. If you stress about this, you are going to hurt yourself way more than help yourself.

The 1 on 1 interview is VERY short. You are always asked "what role did you play in the TBD?" and then "how does that compare to the role you typically play?". Then there is room for one more question, which for me was "Why Wharton?". Keep in mind that these are with 2nd year students, so not high pressure and probably not huge influence on the admissions decision.

Gotta keep the Faith!! I really hope TBD dates are not a burden for int. applicants, I wouldn't mind traveling anywhere the day right after getting the invite and I guess they know this, so keep your chin up......

The one on one is not a big deal. They asked me what I thought of the team based discussion and then which person in my team I would most want to have as a classmate. The rest was just casual conversation. I'd be prepared with a couple questions to ask the interviewer (who will be a current student most likely) and that's about all the prep you need to do for the one on one.

Congratulations!!!

I can't find the exact source anymore but it states that about 90% of Wall Street's billionaires are Wharton graduates!

For finance it is def. one of the very best schools to go...

Any Wharton MBA Student/Alumn from Europe/Italy?
I would like to have a brief talk about the program before the interview but you are quite well hidden...

Thank you very much

Hey guys,

Anyone know whether the interviewer comes into the 1-1 interview having read your entire file (essays, resume, recs etc.)? Thanks!

Phypsie - it's usually a blind interview. All they have is the CV you take along with you to the interview.
