Noticed that too. Haven't filled out my info on here yet but I'm 740+ as well. Not sure that we can read into that too much, but it's an interesting observation regardless.

Also, as far as timing goes, here's direct from Booth:

"We have been busy in the office reading applications and have enjoyed learning more about everyone’s story. We have begun to release invitations to interview this week on a rolling basis with all decisions being released by February 4."

Could be some other confounding factor that's correlated with gmat scores but related to the app processing procedures (good example could be the timing of submission, although they say this isn't it). And of course all the schools urge us to avoid thinking like this (and there's some merit to the idea that it's a waste of time/creates unnecessary stress), but if we really get in the weeds, they do tend to use language like "it has nothing to do with you, it has everything to do with our process," which is different than saying it's randomized; it's more like saying "we don't have some explicit ordering/constraint we impose on on our process." That said, I have no idea how their software works...maybe it really does randomize! So all considered, who knows..

Bingo! Haha

Like I said, I don't think we can read into it too much. There are too many other factors at play. Considering there have only been ~5 interview invite confirmations here, combined with the fact that Gmatclub users probably aren't a representative cross-section of the entire applicant pool...I don't think there's anything to it. Just interesting that everyone on here thus far has been 740+.

Re: Calling all Booth Applicants (2015 Intake) Class of 2017 [#permalink]
I think it makes sense. Booth usually has 2 adcoms read your apps. If the first adcom says an initial yes, you'll get an interview invite. If it's a maybe or a no, then you get pushed to the second adcom. If the second says yes, you'll get an interview invite. If that's a no to, then the final decision goes to the admissions director. So the waves are basically because of this I think.

Also I read somewhere that Booth separates out 730+ GMATs from <730 GMATs and evaluates them separately.

But after all, who knows, it's a magic 8 ball :)

I've heard that some universities initially sort apps by GMAT & GPA and start reading that way - that could explain why first invites go to higher scores. But again, who knows.

Good luck everyone!

well i just spent a lot of time i should have spent working analyzing the R1 invitations.

So first person reported on October 16th and the 24th was the last day. Here was the breakdown (reported on the thread)

Oct 16: 2 people 1.52 EST
Oct 17: nothing (think it was Booth Live)
Oct 18-19: weekend - nothing
October 20 : 13 people 1:52 est
October 21: 6 people 1:00 EST
October 22: 8 people 1:18 est
October 23: 11 people 12:42 EST
October 24: 14 people + dings 4:30 EST

2 takeaways

1. the emails are sent in one batch
2. they really do send emails on the last day...in fact, that was the highest reported day for R1. and there really was no correlation date between invite date and A/D/WL

FROM The Booth Experience: Ski Trip! More than Snow and Mountains
While there are many great things about going to business school, the trips during the breaks are definitely close to the top of the list. I knew I wanted to do a Random Walk when I started at Booth, but I didn’t realize that there were so many other opportunities to explore and have fun … Continue reading Ski Trip!
