#14, powerscore is not working for me. When I go to create an account, it send an email to my email ID that "Unfortunately, you are ineligible for registering an account at this time."

I have sent Powerscore a written communication on the issue and now expecting a response from them. In case I don't receive any resolution, I will remove the link so that others don't waste time on it.

Also I encourage all other readers of this post to suggest any other FREE ONLINE GMAT CAT available elsewhere so that we can make it the elaborate list with useful links only.

How about adding another column to the table , next to the links to capture "reviews" for these free tests? This way people will know which ones are fine and which ones are not. Maybe the review can be divided to have separate 1-5 scales for Q and V .

I really appreciate your suggestion however, I wouldn't like to generalize the feedback about the Various tests because every test company has prepared GMAT CAT as per best of their understanding however I wouldn't hesitate giving my feedback of the tests if someone asks my feedback on the score calculation or on difficulty level of test or whether test questions are in sync with GMAT. I have taken most of the tests myself (recently or in Past) and have been tracking the evolution of the test series vis-a-vis evolution of GMAT test.

Also, I would encourage other Experts to share their feedback and rating on the tests. The feedback of various Test takers and their ratings may diffee but the reasoning of the difference will also be a an experience for reader and beneficial for making best out of the feedbacks.

Valid point. I think the way forward should be to have the experts (only) to provide their views about these tests so that people know which ones to spend time on.

Also, was notified by POWERSCORE that they do not have a separate CAT for GMAT. They recommend their students to download the GMATPREP or the ones given by 800score.com. So please remove the link to POWERSCORE.

You are right... It just shows the SAT Test and Demo.

Have written them about the problem and if the problem doesn't sort out then I will remove their link. Just wondering why it happened because it used to work earlier.

Thank You.

Quant section of 800Score tests are towards Heavier calculation instead of application of good logical ability so I am not fond of them and find them a little deviated from the line of GMAT Like questions

Verbal Section of 800score tests are again a little heavy on concept part and Vocab part which is again not an apt exercise for GMAT so I would refrain from giving a very good feedback of the tests.

on the contrary LBS test is surprisingly good but a little on the easy side of GMAT level. But it certainly gives a good practice in the beginning of test taking exercise.

Just because they are free does not mean that they are worth spending time on. A student spends three hours taking a test and then another three hours to review them, and that commitment of 6 hours of valuable time is massive. Honestly, I would spend that valuable time only on the official GMATPrep tests. Right now we have four in total, two from free GMATPrep tests, two from Exam Pack 1. And GMAC has recently announced Exam Pack 2, so we will get two more by the end of this year. A total of six CATs is a solid number and should be plenty for a large majority of students.

Dabral

I agree to the statement "Just because they are free does not mean that they are worth spending time on"

therefore I am replicating the same logic

"Just because taking 2 GMAT Prep tests+ Exam Pack 1 + yet unavailable Exam Pack 2 is enough practice for you (or tests takers of your calibre) does not mean it's enough practice for everyone" :-D

I hope you can appreciate this logic too.

GMAT is not only the test of test takers competence with Quant and Verbal section but GMAT also tests the Stamina of student to sit for 4 hours and still read long RC and answer the questions, It also tests the perseverance of test takers so where taking 6 tests is good exercise for you, for some students it's just a warm up exercise.

Also, I would never recommend any test taker to take GMAT PREP or Exam Pack as FIRST or SECOND Full length test and waste it in just understanding what it takes to sit for 4 hours and take a full length test. It's good for test takers to be familiar with tests by taking some tests that they can afford to waste for sake of understanding the test.

and my Final opinion is we are citizens of Free countries so it's choice of test takers to take them or not. Most of them are matured to make that decision so where making suggestions is a welcome move, forcing an opinion will be a little rude and unwelcome.

Hi GMATinsight,
I totally agree to save GMAC tests till the end of practice. You deserve Kudos for you effort.

Do you know when the Pack#2 will be released? I can't find any info about it. Also, what type of exam do you recommend to buy (other than GMAC)?

Thanks

Hi Mo2men,

My opinion on various test series is as follows (Ranking-wise)

1) GMAT CLUB tests : I have only taken the Quant sections of GMAT CLUB and find them really great practice so I would wholeheartedly recommend these tests but I haven't taken Verbal tests of GMAT Club so I would like to reserve my comment on the same but I have heard good feedback of Verbal questions too.

2) Manhattan Tests : Best in my opinion. Quant is a little more difficult that actual GMAT's Quant but Verbal is at Par with GMAT level so this gives best exercise for practising GMAT full length tests. Beware, don't get demotivated and disheartened by looking at the scoring. My faith in the scoring method of Manhattan tests is not much and I find them often misleading. Test taker with weak maths can't get any acceptable understanding of their performance in Quant section by taking these tests.

3) Kaplan Tests : I find these tests suitable for those who are not very good with Quant and want to see real level of GMAT quant. However, I find the quant in Kaplan test more on calculation side which is not what GMAT expects much from students. I haven't heard great feedback of Verbal section of these tests from experts in Verbal. The scoring is on higher side so the test score is again misleading and you might be overconfident by looking at the test scores

4) Veritas Tests : Easier than actual GMAT so it's on Fourth rank in my list of recommendation.

There is no test more reliable than GMAT Prep and Exam Pack 1 so they are at the top rank anyways.

I hope this helps!

P.S. I don't want to malign the name of any test series here and find these tests the best efforts of respective test making companies. However after having taken all these tests myself, I have reproduced my opinion on all of them. Above mentioned feedback also include the feedback of thousands of students I have taught and recommended for these test series and my final opinion is the consolidation of all those feedbacks that I have received from trustworthy test takers and based on my own observation of tests.

Thank you guys for your feedback and let us try to keep this conversation helpful for everyone. Providing objective feedback is very important in helping fellow GMATCLUB members undertsand the pros and cons of various tests that are not "official".

Let us provide complete picture of these tests to our fellow members to help them make an informed decision. Forming a particular opinion should not be miscontrued as any affront on your recommendations.

I believe this is a useful list for people to see what materials they have at their disposal and then make an informed decision of what tests to spend time on.

Additionally, as for exam pack 2, dabral is mentioning what OfficialGMAT mentioned in his post at gmatprep-exam-pack-1-is-now-on-sale-160058-100.html#p1575934

Hope this helps.
