I want to make a pivot from ops and get into product management. Location is not a preference. Being an international student, which option would make the most sense in terms of ROI? UNC is undoubtedly the best of the bunch. Would taking out a loan for the sticker price make sense?

Hi. Congratulations on your admits.

It’s good you have tagged stonecold.
I would say that UNC is not a big tech placement school and even last year when tech was hiring anyone from anywhere, they still continue to focus more on consulting and so this year when tech will be completely barren, they will not make any push in that direction, and all of your recruiting would likely be off-campus. Perhaps someone can tell me if I am off abdurgiki or other UNC folks?

The other programs, of course, will not help you a whole lot with tech recruiting but at least the scholarship will help set it off.

By the way, the scholarship, that’s great, but I don’t really know the cost of tuition or attendance so it’s hard to have a good judgment about the value and all you’re giving me is the discount amount rather than the cost

A few clarifications

Did you get into the Carlson Management Science MBA or just the Carlson MBA?

If you did get into the management science MBA, I'd suggest you accept the offer and move to Minnesota.

You can also negotiate for more funding to ease your stress. UNC is a good school, but since not an M7, T10, and T15 school, it's not worth taking a loan.
