I'll be applying to their PMBA class, but even their Professional MBA class has 4 rounds of applications??

Also, how are there 3 applicants when the application hasn't opened yet? Tried starting an application yday, and it didn't allow me to apply, there was only 1 app open and that was to Rice's Masters in Accounting program.

Did anyone apply in R1 ? By when do they start calling for interviews for Rice? Is it on rolling basis?

Yeah I applied R1 on the 28th, got the KIRA invite on 10/2, and submitted in on Friday 10/6.

So hoping I get through to the community invite.

However, I applied to their PMBA program, not FT.. and they're based on Rolling.

Today's the official deadline for both the FT and PMBA, so I'm sure they'll be swamped with apps.

It was good. 3-4 behavioral questions. Definitely recommend prepping by checking out the Kira thread. Qs were similar

Just finished the CA, students are out for vaca this week, so I interviews with an Adcom.

I was a little nervous.. but it is what it is.

1. Tell me about yourself
2. Why mba?
3. why rice?
4 What will you give back to rice?
5. What goes in to choosing a school?
6 Short term/long term mba goals?
7. Experience with diversity, and how have you used it at work?
8. Any questions regarding student life?
9. Any questions you want me to bring back?


Advise you to answer every question. Do not skip.

Have a conversation. Which is what I did.

Hey guys a quick question , my recommender took a while to submit the LOR , it was submitted on 15th Oct. How long does it usually take to recieve a Kira Video assessment link.

Anyone know why they don’t offer in person CA’s? I thought that they did in the past, I’m surprised the only option is zoom.

Hey Guys - I had my KIRA assessment today after targeting R1 deadline at Rice. Any idea how long they take to respond after submitting KIRA assessment. Also, i think my KIRA interview was not upto the mark as I expected. Do you often see colleges rejecting largely on basis of KIRA assessment?

Hi Pooja148,

Thanks for writing in.

It is tough to comment on the exact reason for rejection by a school unless the school itself provides objective feedback. However, yes, the video interview is an important component - just as important as your other essays.

If you are invited for an interview, in all probability, you will know in a couple of weeks.

Hi. I had my not so up to the mark Kira Interview on tuesday and received the interview invite last night. I suppose you will hear from them early next week. Good Luck!

historically its a week. for me, i applied 3 days prior to the deadline, and got the invote to both the KIRA and CA after 2-3 days of submitting.

Now patiently waiting their decision..
