Re-app in for round one. I used an admissions consultant for last year's application and was rejected. If anyone has questions regarding the sting of rejection or admissions consultants, give me a shout.

The questions last year were:

1. “How long have you known the applicant and describe your relationship to the applicant?

2. Provide an example of constructive feedback you have provided to the applicant. How did the applicant receive this feedback and what efforts did the applicant make to address the concern?

3. Please provide an example of a time when the applicant was particularly successful at interacting with others in a team (employees, peers, managers, etc.); how was the applicant successful? How does the applicant compare to his/her peers in this dimension?

4. Provide an example of a time when the applicant did not meet expectations. What was the outcome? How did s/he handle the setback?

5. How has the applicant’s career progressed over the time that you have known him/her? How does this growth compare to his/her peer group? Please describe the peer group that you are comparing this applicant.

6. Provide any additional comments you think would assist the Admissions Committee in making its decision.”

7. “In addition to the questions above we also ask the recommenders to fill out a grid that appraises some of your attributes.”

Word of advice from me, get it to your recommenders early.

Hey reapplyN2011, I am still deliberating whether to use an admission consultant ... I was initially against it but lately have heard a lot of success stories of applicants using consultants ... would love to hear you opinion on their value add.

The former alumni gave great insight into the admissions process. But, looking back at my essays, I felt like the message I sent to business schools was ultimately a safer canned response approved by an admissions consulting firm, as opposed to my own unique story. I worry that the process could potentially leave your essays too safe, and too much of the same story.

Re: Wharton 2012 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
So the stats on the first page of this thread show 64 people registered as Wharton applicants. Any given year the applicant pool is around 8000 give or take a few hundred. 64/8000=0.008 I find this hard to believe.

I wonder how many more are just quiet observers of this thread.

Well not many start the process for R2 or R3 so early. The numbers wont hold good when you take that into view. Besides, from what I observed only the ultra devoted/ devoted types scour the Internet for information and research before applying. So the online forum discusser pool maybe representative of the quality of applicant pool for a particular school , but not necessarily the quantity.
