Wow, 470 is too much.

I guess the main question is out of 470, how many people actually accepted the WL offer? I won't be surprised if half of the applicants matriculated somewhere else. The next question is how many actually tried to get in (i.e, sent updates/recs etc). I wish they had similar stats for Fuqua.

I won't be surprised given it's Cornell. They are known to WL a lot of candidates, because Cornell is no one's first choice. This shows the insecurity on their part.

I have a friend who is graduating this year, and she mentioned that Cornell has been very GMAT heavy this year and will only accept people from WL who have really high scores. I think this makes a lot of sense, because I was asked about my low score 3 times during the interview. (adcom). It was to the point where I thought that he was being rude and he called my 46 in quant as low (haha). I doubt I am getting in.

I have also heard that Cornell has been focusing on GMAT lately which is surprising because you don't go up in the rankings based on one score. But, I doubt that it's just GMAT.

Has anyone in here been admitted from the WL? I was WLed R3 and aside from the generic WL email from Johnson, I have not heard anything further.

Everybody is focused on the GMAT but GMAT itself has been reverse engineered and broken down by the test-prep companies to the point it has become a science. People who have poor grammar score really high on the verbal and people who barely got by doing math in high-school are star quant performers. It's a joke :-)

Going by that analogy, so is the whole admissions process. You have consultants for everything -many of whom in the past have served on the Adcom- applications, mock interviews, thank you notes and what not.

It has become a joke. As for consultants, schools have recognized the fact that prior adcom members work as consultants. There has been a push-back in recent years.

I'd been monitoring the progress on the site for a while now. It's only fair to give back.

I was accepted off the waitlist this Friday for the AMBA program. Hope that helps. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back

Do you mean you applied to 2 yr program and accepted to AMBA?

In Round 4? Sorry for that.
One of my friend was invited to interview from the WL(waitlisted without interview in R1)
And admission committee said today, they just began reviewing waitlisted people.
Good luck to you..

I applied to AMBA in R1 and was waitlisted after my interview.

Did anyone hear anything today? I did not, and I checked the site. It appears they will wait to see the yield from R4 before making any last minute admissions.

I got admitted off of WL today. Have been in their ear since rd 2. Sent in updates and let them know they are my number 1 so it's possible.

Congrats! Were you added to WL after interview or not?
I'm also waiting for their call since R1 but I'm not sure they regard the meeting with me on the campus as an official interview or not. If not, I have to have another interview again even if they call me.
