Oh good for you! I think I asked you about this on your Kellogg v Yale topic. I'm consortium too but didn't rank them 1st because at that point I hadn't visited any schools or met any students/alums yet- had I known how much I'd fall in love with Yale I would have DEFINITELY ranked them first. They did offer me a sizable merit-based scholarship though so maybe a full ride is still a possibility later...

Moral of the story to folks still applying- try your very best to visit schools before you apply not just for application inspiration but to truly give you a sense of where you want to belong!


Also-I thought of applying to Ross but when I reached out to students they had on the admissions site, no one got back to me :/ so I took that as a sign. Besides I've been to a lot of places in Michigan on business and it ain't for everyone, not to throw shade.

Does anybody know of any other schools beyond Yale that have offered merit-based scholarships with the admission letter even if the applicant is applying through the Consortium?

For those of you who had trouble sending your mission recommender the link via the portal, how did you resolve the issue? My recommender is ready to submit, but she doesn't have the link. She checked her spam box and we've both tried different browsers. I also removed her information and then added it back in. Any advice??? Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem. I ultimately called them and they manually sent my recommender the request. But also keep in mind that the recommendation requests are sent at a certain time each day (e.g. not immediate), so I would give it 24hrs, tell your recommender to check her spam folder and if it still hadnt arrived by then, get in touch with the consortium.

Thanks BigUp! The recommendation request was sent out early this morning. Guess I'm just a tad bit anxious... :roll:

Speedy, firstly, congrats on the admit and the fellowship. That's huge!! :thumbup:

If you don't mind me asking, did you rank Yale first in your consortium application? I'm just trying to understand the logistics since the "draft" isn't until march.

Yep, ranked Yale #1 [admitted], Haas #2 [just got in interview invite on Dec 23, oddly enough], and Ross #3 [withdrew my app].

My mission recommender is lagging a bit, but my MBA application is all done. Anyone seeing a problem submitting the MBA application (the online review says that everything is complete) without the mission recommender material? Would the MBA application still be sent to the schools without it?

There's no problem submitting. I applied in the first round and my mission recommender actually submitted one day after the deadline and the consortium said it was okay. So submit your app whenever you are ready and the recommendation can follow later.

just a question. for the main consortium essay, i've been told by some to keep it short around ~400 words and by others I should go in more detail ~600-900 words. The reason why people say keep it short is because you have additional detail you can go into in your school specific essay. can anyone provide any help on this?

The only limit is two pages. I can't see you going anything over 700 words on two pages double-spaced. Definitely do not go over 750, there is no school I know of with essays above that word count.

Submitted yesterday. Hope everything goes well I'm kinda of an atypical candidate all around. I submitted a GRE instead of GMAT and scored a 168Q and 165V on GRE, which is equivalent to a 760 if they see it as such so I'm hoping that will help. Does it matter what "other" schools you put down. I've read some people talking about them being concerned about yield rates. I'm also applying to Booth, MIT, Kellogg, and Stanford. I already went to Harvard for the Kennedy school so I wanted a bit of a different experience.

Hi All,
Did anyone get an interview invite for Kelley? I submitted Jan 5th for CGSM R2. I received the interview invite monday via email, and called to confirm for a 1/21/14 date in the SoCal area. I don't even think the consortium released my application but I am not complaining:)
