Good to hear from you at today’s Spotlight event. My question is w.r.t Admission perspective because I m worried after having 15 yrs of work exp. at hand and applying to full-time MBA at TUCK for making a pivot to Demography, Industry, and Job Function. Is the ADCOMS open to offering a seat to aspirants like me applying at 38 and still be willing to accept considering a younger and highly competitive applicant pool?

Q: How are non-traditional applicants (non-business professional/academic background, race, etc.) viewed within the application process? And how are non-traditional students supported by Tuck to ensure that they are integrated with the Tuck community as those from traditional backgrounds? Thank you!!
Would love to know this!
I also come from a marketing background

I have heard a lot about the tight knit Tuck community, and an essay about how you can contribute to to the values of Tuck. How would an applicant approach this? What should be highlighted?

Hello everyone, I am a recent admit at Tuck. I am based out of India and have 5 years of experience in technology operations. I applied through the GRE in Round 1. I have been in your shoes literally a few months back, happy to answer any questions regarding applications/ GMAT/GRE or anything that comes to your mind.

I don’t think you should be worried abput the background at all. What matters is within that non traditional background what have you accomplished, the experience you have gained and the impact you have made

If you don’t mind me asking - I have asked this almost everyone. What are your post-mba goals? Why did you apply to tuck among other schools? What attracted you to Tuck? (Just curious) no right/wrong answers here!

Sure :) I want to pursue consulting as my post MBA goal working more specifically in the tech industry practice. I have a bachelors in computer science and experience with a leading tech company so that has always been my passion. The biggest thing that attracted me to Tuck was how well planned the academics was, the tight knit community and one of the most glorious employment reports especially for consulting.

I have heard that GRE is more forgiving for admissions. I am looking up Tuck’s average GRE... Tuck is 324 average-gre-scores-of-top-business-schools-411935.html

I really feel you should talk to current students at Tuck to be able to comprehend what they really mean by Tuck community. Check out the clubs, events, conferences and visualise yourself at Tuck and imagine the things that you would be driving/ hosting. These could be good starting pointers to approach the essay.

One more piece of advice for essays- Don’t write what business schools want to hear, write who you are, what you have done.

when it comes to the factors that attracted you to Tuck: could you share what other schools you were looking at that were comparable to it?

and how were you able to connect with current students at Tuck to get a good sense of their community

Given my post MBA goal was something I could achieve at every T15 school, it came down to the kind of experience I wanted throughout my two years. I am not an extrovert and I needed the feeling of a community to feel more comfortable. I was considering Michigan Ross, Darden, NYU Stern.

You can reach out to current students here : https://www.tuck.dartmouth.edu/admissio ... ck/connect

Just send an email to folks that interest you, and they will be more than happy to talk to you

I had a failed application season prior to this one and it is incredibly hard to restart the whole process. So if anyone is on the fence reapplying or has any question, feel free
