Way to go!! My interviewer was extremely nice and it felt more like a conversation (with some leading behavioral questions) than anything!

Hey friends. I’m curious about something regarding the interview process, mainly for Tuck since mine is coming up this week, but I guess in general as well.

Typically, do interviewers move around when doing their note-taking? For example, if I answer a question and it inadvertently answers part of another, I presume they’ll make a note of that in the appropriate place, right?

I get pretty anxious when I realize I might have repeated myself in another question so I was wondering how much I need to worry about that 😅

Not to worry on this. For ex. Why MBA and goals are kind of overlapping. You can frame it up in such a way that one leads to the other. Then you can avoid answering both if needed or vice versa as required. There key focus is on clarity in the answers. They should be able to understand your motivations behind what your doing and what you want to do through an MBA and that too at Tuck

Hi Everyone, Does anyone know what percentage of application received interview invite at Tuck? I have not received one yet so was wondering if I can get some idea especially any recent couple of years trends.

That’s hard to figure out, because they have guaranteed interviews for each round if you submit by an earlier deadline

Just had my interview (will submit a full debrief.

I think these interviews are generally straightforward so you’re definitely set up for success, however I had some time to think about my answers and I don’t think I effectively highlighted the qualities they want even though I had these stories lined up.

Just giving you all a heads up that you might fall into the trap I did in that you get so comfortable you stop being strategic about your stories.

Pretty standard:
1) Tell me about yourself and why we’re having this chat (basically why MBA)
2) Tell me where Tuck fits into this
3) Short and long term goals
4) Time when you gave feedback for something difficult
5) Time when you received difficult feedback
6) Something you’re proud of (which I think is where I should have used my planned answer showcasing my "Smart" quality, but changed my mind in the interview, which I regret)
7) Anything else you want us to know

Hello everyone,

I recently had my interview at Tuck, and I came out feeling quite positive about how it went. During our conversation, after I shared my strong interest in real estate, my interviewer offered to connect me with the co-chair of the Real Estate Club.

I’m curious to know from the forum: Is it standard practice for interviewers to offer connections to potential students based on their interests, or should I take this as a particularly good sign regarding how my interview went?

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this. Thank you in advance!

Glad to hear that the interviews went well! It’s certainly a good sign and it probably means that you did well to excellence. I don’t see why they would recommend you to connect with someone if they think you are not at least okay.

Whether it’s a standard or not is not important as each interview has different practices and degree of friendliness so I wouldn’t over-index on that.

A friend of mine received his interview invite last weekend, so I think they are still sending invitations, but I suspect that depends on how it went for other applicants in their interviews, and if the school needs to fill an empty spot

It’s a good sign. It’s either 1) there was issue with your first interviewer report (or overall approach and they found out later) or 2) they like you but on the fence so want to connect with you again.

In my opinion, visiting the school shows commitment and confirm that you are truly interested an willing to join if accected. Even more if you are international! (imagine travelling for another country, I did it and I kmow that all international applicants that I know and went to the school, at leats got the interview). But for sure that doesn’t grant the acceptance as there are much more factors to consider and it is perfectly possible to go and be rejected (as actually happened to me with another business school haha). If there is no fit with the school, then nothing will help.
