RBHIDE

I guess you could if you don't have any other things to talk about in the optional essay. Why do you feel it would be not advisable? Also, check the following article and see if it helps. https://www.personalmbacoach.com/short- ... al-videos/

Mock Application Sessions

Hello, everyone!

I attended one of these Mock Application Sessions in the last cycle and found them really helpful. I would highly suggest everyone to register for a mock application session by the AdCom of NYU Stern. You can register here: https://apply.stern.nyu.edu/portal/ft_events?_ga=2.185581739.386279365.1656054281-1270113197.1654769541

A quick summary of what happens in these sessions:
The AdCom picks up a mock resume (it won't be yours, chill), LoRs and essays. Then send you to random breakout rooms on their own. Each breakout room is responsible for assessing a specified portion of the application. It can be test scores, work experience, essays, LoRs, etc. - anything that forms part of your application when you hit the submit button. Then they invite people to come forward and discuss the findings of their group.

Pros:
1. Face-to-face interaction with the AdCom
2. Opportunity to display your critical thinking
3. Opportunity to understand how AdCom reviews every application
4. It's super fun and you get to network with people who might be a part of your cohort

Things to consider:
1. You can attend this event only once. So, since I attended it in the last cycle, I can't register for it again even from a different e-mail address.
2. Make sure you are not too critical in your assessment. You have to understand that the resume and the essays etc. are probably of a real person, or were written/prepared by someone. Instead of being too critical and pointing out flaws, have a positive outlook and understand how the gaps in the mock application can be bridged.

These sessions are highly interactive, so please make it a point to interact and have fun. Hope this helps! :)

Hi!

Most of the attendees at yesterday's "FT MBA Admissions Dean's Application Tips" webinar should have received a mail from Stern with a brief survey linked to it.

In case you didn't receive it, here's the link:
https://nyustern.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8dAwJmcKffwzNz0

Please do interact and engage with the school as much as you can. Leave some helpful feedback, too!

Hope this helps.

"What are your short-term career goals?"

Essay 1: Change: _________ it. (350 words maximum, double-spaced, 12-point font)
In today’s global business environment, the only constant is change. Using NYU Stern’s brand call to action, we want to know how you view change. Change: _____ it. Fill in the blank with a word of your choice. Why does this word resonate with you? How will you embrace your own personal tagline while at Stern?
Examples:
Change: Dare it.
Change: Dream it.
Change: Drive it.
Change: Empower it.
Change: Manifest it.
Change: [Any word of your choice] it.

Essay 2: Personal Expression (a.k.a. "Pick Six")
Describe yourself to the Admissions Committee and to your future classmates using six images and corresponding captions. Your uploaded PDF should contain all of the following elements:
> A brief introduction or overview of your "Pick Six" (no more than 3 sentences).
> Six images that help illustrate who you are.
> A one-sentence caption for each of the six images that helps explain why they were selected and are significant to you.
Note: Your visuals may include photos, infographics, drawings, or any other images that best describe you. Your document must be uploaded as a single PDF. The essay cannot be sent in physical form or be linked to a website.

Essay 3: Additional Information (optional). (250 word maximum, double-spaced, 12-point font)
Please provide any additional information that you would like to bring to the attention of the Admissions Committee. This may include current or past gaps in employment, further explanation of your undergraduate record or self-reported academic transcript(s), plans to retake the GMAT, GRE, Executive Assessment, IELTS or TOEFL, or any other relevant information.

Personal MBA Coach has published an article as well, analysing these essay topics - please read it here:
https://www.personalmbacoach.com/nyu-stern-essays/

EQ Endorsements:
NYU Stern needs two EQ Endorsements - one from your immediate supervisor (in case you can't get that, you need to give an explanation for the same in the form itself, or you can use the optional essay for this) and one from someone who knows you well professionally and/or personally.
Please note: Immediate family members are NOT supposed to write your letters of recommendation.

EQ Endorsement Questions:
> Please provide a brief description of your interaction with the applicant and, if applicable, the applicant's role in your organization.
> How does the applicant's performance compare to that of other well-qualified individuals in similar roles (if applicable)? Please provide specific examples. (E.g. what are the applicant's principal strengths?)
> Describe the most important piece of constructive feedback you have given the applicant. Please detail the circumstances and the applicant's response.
> IQ+EQ is a core value of NYU Stern, and we seek exceptional individuals who possess both intellectual and interpersonal strengths. Emotional intelligence (EQ) skills such as self-awareness, empathy, communication and self-management are at the core of our community of leaders. Please provide one specific and compelling example to demonstrate the applicant's emotional intelligence.
> (Optional) Is there anything else we should know?

Read more about the EQ Endorsements here: https://www.stern.nyu.edu/programs-admissions/mba-programs/admissions/eq-endorsements

Application Fee:
US $250 for each of the three programs.

Application fee waiver:
U.S. military members or U.S. veterans who have served active duty, Teach for America and Teach for India program alumni, and Forté MBALaunch alumnae are eligible for application fee waivers. Prior to submitting your application, please submit the Application Fee Waiver Request Form (https://apply.stern.nyu.edu/register/?id=57100533-374d-4c19-8bb0-0ed41c87e4c6&_ga=2.119015689.1080699286.1657045440-1688454647.1657045440) for application fee waiver consideration. The Admissions Committee will review these requests within 5 business days. Please plan ahead and allow ample time prior to submitting your application, especially during high-volume times around the application deadlines.

If you are experiencing economic challenges and would like to request an application fee waiver, please submit the Application Fee Waiver Request Form. Requests should include a rationale for the application fee waiver and will be considered by the Admissions Committee on a case-by-case basis.

Once an application fee is paid by an applicant, it is non-refundable. Please be sure to fill out the request form prior to paying your application fee if you wish to be considered for a waiver.
