with tears of joy and a big "yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss " scream I received my admission email from Antoinette Molino a few days ago :) at last ! what annoys me is financing the project . I am considering different options for the student loan , but do you think it is possible to negotiate with them the amount of financial aid provided?

I met an account manager the other day and that was what she told me. However, I might need a co-signer because my credit history is not long enough..

same here ... seems we are in the same boat : recently landed immigrant . I just want to make sure : 3.6% per year means that if you borrow 10k to return them on 5 years then every year you would pay 2000$ +3.6%*2000 or 2000$+3.6%*10k ? forgive me if I seem a bit stupid , but education loans are not available in my country of origin so this whole story is totally vague to me .

I think the interest is compounded. And for the first two years or three years(i couldnt recall), the interest rate is 3.6%. However, in the following year, the loan will become a person loan with 4.5% interest rate afterwards.

The interest is compounded. Therefore assuming you pay $2000 at the end of every year and the interest increases to 4.5% in year 3, it is:
(((((10000*1.036-2000)*1.036-2000)*1.045-2000)*1.045-2000)*1.045-2000)*1.045-1386.94=0 --> payment will be complete in 6 years. You'll actually be making monthly payments, making the calculation more complicated, but you'll pay less interest. Unfortunately, we're not talking about a $10k loan.

I might not be able to pay the deposit online due to technical issues related to the bank itself . Do you think if I tell them this fact they can accept to receive payment via banj transfer ? and did anybody here learn about a similar case before ?

Thanks in advance

Nope. Your credit card not working? May be you can try to talk with bank about the issue.

The Nona: Congrats on your admit.
Have fun everyone. I won't be joining McGill after all (BTW, at the end they offered me 18K scholarship).
I hope to see you all in some event or competition. Enjoy McGill, classes and the great company of your classmates

it is a policy they recently imposed , the use of cards online is limited to a certain value which is much less than the deposit value :(

Hey man congrats on your admission. I'm soo happy that you made it. I'm actually new to this website.

I'm preparing for my first GMAT in August. and just like you i have Molson and McGill on my books.

I dont exactly have a bachelors degree but ACCA - UK qualification. Anyway enjoy your time at McGill surely its one of the most prestigious institution.

Any tips for me? I have low GPA and about 630 GMAT test prep score. do you think i can make it to McGill ?

Re: Desautels (McGill U) 2013 - Calling All MBA Applicants [#permalink]
i wish for some information from you. Is a GMAT700( q50,v33) , and IELTS 7(all four items are over or equal to 6)enough for Mcgill, typically for a Chinese mainland applier. Also,i wish to know whether Mcgill has a standard on IR part and AWA part? What are the common criteria for those two, respectively? Now i have no working experience, i just want to evaluate some exam requirements. I am waiting for your reply, thanks.
