Does anyone have any stats handy on WL?

Hi, PlastMan!

You may find this webinar useful:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... fOIQ#t=296

They have statistics, but not from LBS.

It looks like LBS is one of the schools that discourage supplemental material.
So, this 2 links may also be useful:

I got an email offering me a meeting with one of the Adcom team members to discuss my profile and have a Q&A.

Hi can you share the dates by which the admitted candidates are required to provide the first installment so as to commit to LBS?

No, it was not. They sent a standardised email. I'm based in the UK so not sure if they are offering it just to WL near London

Unfortunately, I can not share much details on the dates as they require us to accept confidentiality terms.
But I was pretty precise when I made my estimates regarding dates and values at the main LBS 2018 thread.
As most B Schools, they give you around 1 month to pay the commitment fee.

Hope that helps

I had a waitlist coffee chat with an AdComm member in New York last month (school initiated). The conversation was centred around any questions I had on the waitlist process. I gave her my spiel regarding what I intended to do while waitlisted and my reasons for applying to the school. She said those things are all well and good but the AdComm doesn't really need anything extra unless it asks for it.

Hi All,
This thread is a bit quiet. Has anyone received any update on application status? Anyone off the WL?
From past threads it seems that AdCom waits till the Summer to give update WL candidates with yes/no answers.

How's everyone doing?

Thanks

PlastMan,

no info at all. In the email I received after being WLed they asked me to increase my gmat and to notify them asap as the school reviews the WL routinely. In case of a positive decision the school notify the candidate immediately, in case of a ding... no idea.

Thanks! Yes, from looking at last year's threads there was little movement till the summer and it seemed low acceptance rate from WL.

Anyone hoping for movement this week? I noticed the majority of WL last year were R2 applicants. There was some positive movement for R1 WL in the first decision deadline but most movement is in the summer and usually unfavourably.

My feeling from getting in touch with LBS is that the crucial point for them with me is "fit". It seems they really care about study groups.

How's the rest handling the process? Already discounting a ding? If no positive response this week then I'm afraid I'm expecting a ding in the summer or at best a pyrrhic victory.

The last page of reference form asks to rate the candidate.
As per the example given on that page 1 = Low. However, against each quality 1 is written as high.
So, which represents high 1 or 5 ?

Quote:
Ratings

Please rate the applicant, comparing them with other members of his or her peer group, on the qualities listed below using the following scoring system:

1 = Low 3 = Average 5 = High

Intellectual or academic ability
1 (High) 2 3 4 5 (Low) Not observed

Quantitative skills
1 (High) 2 3 4 5 (Low) Not observed
