looks like 715 total slots, 129 open slots remaining. according to adcom, there should be about 1800 people interviewed total (roughly split between 1st and 2nd round i think?), so it's likely that there are still more interviews left to be sent out for R1...anyone agree/disagree?

From Business week forums:
User HSW2010 "I received an HBS Interview Invitation today [Monday] at 3:36pm ET, FYI." https://forums.businessweek.com/n/pfx/fo ... &tid=82680

So they did send invites out today.

Then the number of available has slipped to 121, which does not bode well for those that said "185 left to go out." Of course, the number of total going down by a bunch may change things... Maybe they have not finalized the slots yet, and maybe some are being held back??? Too little information to make a reasonable assessment at this point.

I hope HBS updates their blog at some point, rather than us making potentially ill-informed guesses.

Based on the updated numbers from shadowsjc the open slots are far below the 850 interviews they did last year. Per Sandy on Business Week the difference between the taken interview slots and the final number is over 200 . Naturally if people got invites less than an hour ago that number will be down by the end of the day (as new invitees find out and schedule dates). Either way the numbers are not high, but I think they may be a little higher than the scheduling site can tell us at that point.

well from everything ive been told about the HBS interview, it's 1) extremely random and 2) extremely customized to your app. for example, one current student told me that on her interview, they asked her: "so, i see in the past you've lived in city X, Y, and Z. if you could pick one word to describe each city, what would it be?".

im not sure how i would fare in an interview like this. on the one hand, it makes it incredibly easy to prepare for (just know your app inside / out). on the other hand, if you are really nervous and start blabbing about stuff, it could potentially end your app right there on the table (especially if you are to believe sandy from hbsguru).

i figure i might as well get it over with as soon as i can.. my bday will be shortly after the int, and im planning a trip to vegas with my friends. i just hope i dont bomb the int - otherwise it'll be a pretty lousy trip lol
