So what's the verdict? Did they pull a fast one in saying that interviews would be sent out slowly... And then send most of them on one day... AND then say there were many more???

Or were they telling the truth and the system is just blocking some interview slots?

I would LOVE to believe it is the latter but my gut is telling me to give up. How about everyone else?

yea ... no clue why they would explicitly say it'll stream out and then send out 700 invites on one day ...

I have basically given up hope

Sucks to put so much work into an app and see it go no where ...

some quick notes.. looks like they added 2 extra spots in boston. sandy mentioned as much...basically he said that they would add more spots if necessary to their boston and norcal hubs since they own property there. was also surprised to see they added spots to LA

I might be over interpreting, but based on some detective work, we know the invites that came out on Friday gave people a heads up that slots will open up at 12:00pm on Monday. The first post on someone who received an invite today was ~1:30pm, would be curious to see if that person had to scramble and sign up for a slot (which means bad news for the rest of us, looks like HBS pulled a fast one and sent out the majority on Friday). OR if that person also received a 1-2 day advance notice i.e. he/she gets to sign up Tuesday / Wed at noon, well that means invites come out in waves and we can still hope.

I'm going to go to bed now to prevent myself from having heart attacks. Good luck everyone.

64 open slots in the US. If even 10-15 people have not signed up for their interview yet (highly likely), that means *JUST* 50 openings left. This sounds like the last minute interviews they're keeping in their backpocket for any oh **** reasons.

Ok. I guess that's IT! Goodbye Harvard... It wasn't fun while it lasted and who knew you could make me even more miserable.

I don't know what I am going to say will give you ALL hope or pull you into hell again!

My friend, current student, tells me that the REALITY is hub is not all, there are telephone and Alumni interview. For him and his friend, it is!

Let's do some easy experiments to verify.

In Asia, there are two sites for hub interview(70 seats): Shanghai(29 seats) and Mumbai! You know what?

Each year, hbs admits about 20~25 Chinese and half of them are from R1, it means about 12 people.

BUT, Shanghai hub only offers 29 seats. Around Shanghai, there are several sources like Japan, Korea, HONGKONG, Taiwan, and all mainland. I think the first choice for all of them is not Mumba but Shanghai. Then how many seats specifically for mainland Chinese? I assume at most half, 14, right?

Then what is the conclusion? if hub interview is all, it means almost every Chinese who gets interview will get offer. It doesn't make sense. Admission rate is only 50~60%. Thus, the answer is obvious, hub is not ALL.

Thus, let's wait for more!!!

by all means, it was not meant to offend people, but to be realistic, we are coming up w/ all sorts of "excuses" on more possible invites when the facts are set in stone. It, is, impossible. We can be checking this forum and business week's forums nonstop this whole week, but fact is fact....no invite = dinged. HBS dream is over, but not mba dream.

I am very confused by this whole thing, but then again I live on a large and sparsely populated island. Tell me, are telephone and alumni interviews included? I just don't see Australia on that list anywhere... Can we hear back from anyone who is telephone/alumni interviewing?

no, those numbers are only for face to face interviews with adcom only. those who were invited to interview were sent a link where they could sign up for one time slot. there has been no mention of alumni or phone interviews yet, at least that i've seen.

I too am one of the guys hoping for a London invite. Looks like there are 20 spots left. Largely wishful thinking but lets see - would be awesome if people could give us the latest update when possible.
