Thanks for the update - pretty gutted to see the London number whittle away...this is very nervewracking, but I think the writing is on the wall.

some notes from this morning:

i didn't see any slots get added, but some were taken overnight. however, as was mentioned earlier, this doesn't take into account phone interviews or alumni interviews. it's possible that HBS has yet to send those out, or has sent them out already and hasn't said anything

By my calculations there should still be 200 interview invitations left to go out for R1. Considering that the total number of admits is 900 and they accept roughly half of all interviewees and admissions are even between R1 and R2, simple math dictates they need to interview 900 people in R1. So far they've signed up 700.

Am I off base? Small dreams to keep alive...

my only guesses for the smaller number this year is the over-enrollment from last year and that they may not know what to expect from round 2 apps. last year and this year are sure to steer from the historic trends.

You are a little off, but not too much.

They interview approximately 850 from R1, 850 from R2, and 100 or so from R3... All in all, 1900 interviews (historically) for 1050 spaces (900+ matriculate)...

And remember, 150 is the upper edge, since they may have already sent out more interviews than have actually signed up. Additionally, some/many of those remaining may be for telephone/alum interviews for remote areas of the globe. If you don't have an invite, and are in the states or in locations that have filled up, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I am in the same boat in Texas...haven't heard of anyone in getting an invite from TX. Surprising that TX doesn't have a hub for interviews. Granted, HBS is a reach for me anyways..

re: texas - i would imagine they would expect you guys to fly to chicago or cali. the american hub cities make sense:

ny - largest city + east coast
LA - second largest city + west coast
chi - third largest city + central

norcal - HBS has a permanent office out there
boston - hbs headquarters

i just double checked and there were no major changes (either with slots closing up, or new slots being added). maybe like 1-2 spots here and there, but nothing groundbreaking. i guess at this point all eyes and ears are on the HBS blog and/or twitter feed to get any more updates

I was just wondering as to what everyone's application status is when they login to the apply yourself website. Mine is still saying "submitted" and I just want to make sure nothing is wrong.- Thanks.

I really wish they'd give us more information, even if it's just for closure.

On the fun side of this, I have started to filter out any e-mail that doesn't have "Warm greetings from Harvard Business School" in it. I just got a mild heart attack when I got an e-mail with admissions@... and it was a Simon School promotional e-mail based on my GMAT. As a result, London Business School, Duke, and NYU are already in my spam box (no reflection of the schools, but of my tolerance level at this point) :P
Bring it on spammers!

The way I see this, its not over till its over. I am not drooling over my mailbox every 5 minutes (just every half hour or so :D ) - and I have plenty of work to do for work and for other apps to think of a ding as a goal killer. HBS likes to take candidates that don't really need HBS to be successful anyway. I say, lets keep our spirits up and make the best of it.
