Hi Everyone,
I was recently surfing the BW forums and I came across a topic string that discussed the MIT cover letter and various strategies. What I took away from it was that it seems that many people did as the prompt asked and addressed moments of impact throughout their careers. Doing so, many felt that it left no room to address why an MBA and why MIT.
I took a different route. I addressed one core accomplishment with detail (although somewhat truncated) and mentioned a few others without as much detail. I then used the remainder of the essay to address why MIT and why an MBA.
Have I made a fatal MIT app error? Would I have been better to only address accomplishments?
How did you all approach this topic?
Thanks! - Duc
PS - Is this wait driving anyone else mad??
My understanding is that a cover letter has an inbuilt question about your fit and that you are seeking a position in that organization....
they added a few more questions to it which they specifically want...
so what you did is the right thing....
tell about yourself
accomplishments - along your career path...concise
and one of the accomplishments can be the long lasting impact
and then your fit...
and what you give back
thats what I did...
And dont wait....as per my research....it will start from 7th dec....
hope that helps....and dun sweat...what you sent already is done...so hope for the best!!!
cheers!
