i think its more like round 2.5. you aren't screwed, but there is a bigger advantage in R1 vs R2 than other schools. but its not a desperate situation like R3 can be.
Ahhh...I just read MIT Sloan's thread from last year. Such a Bloodbath!
The results are simply perplexing. They accepted quite a few of HBS/Stanford admits, who did not enroll at Sloan, and rejected some awesome candidates who got accepted at other M7s. That meant there were maybe 2 gmat clubbers who actually enrolled.
