Yup.. same thing happened in Round 1 - Admit site was down for the next ~24hrs or so after decisions went out.

What "final date" are people putting down for MIT waitlist?

MIT is my strong preference but there is definitely a point of no return with all the plans I need to make to move to Chicago (I'm currently Boston based, so staying is a bit easier). I'm thinking July 1 since most of the w/l action will probably happen in June anyways and I'd like closure... However, if there was a mid-July option I'd probably choose that. I am definitely considering Aug. 1 as I can always email them to remove myself if I reach the point of no return.

shana, I selected September 1 but I didn't have complete information. Did you participate in the waitlist chat yesterday? I found that helpful for getting a sense of time frame. If I haven't received an interview invitation by the end of June, I will make some other commitment. Good luck!

I did. It sounds like the longer you're on the list, the better the odds become...unsurprisingly. I just struggle with being able to predict when I'll hit the point of no return. I just picked August 1, since it's easier to withdraw than to extend...and I can't see changing my plans after Aug. 1 anyways.

I'm going to follow the same general rule when it comes to the interview. If I don't get one by late June, I'll move on.

So I got my admission package from MIT today with some fun goodies but no information on fellowships or scholarships...does that just mean I didn't get any or is there another package?

For me in R1 the info came by email a little less than a week after I got the call. Can't remember if it was before or after the packet. The paper letter came after the admissions packet.

I have a question...should I fill out my fafsa and see what need-base funding I receive before I accept an offer? I guess my question is-if I accept before I know what financial aid I'm getting, will that impact the amount of aid they give me? Will they assume since I'm going there anyways, they dont have to give me any.

looks like with almost 5000 applicants they have enough candidate line up to give their life for MIT ! So forget about money !

MIT students are also somewhere on the sky ! They email me one to congratulate and never reply my email asking for help anymore !

Also is anyone managing this forum (MIT 2010)? Page 1 does not have any of the stats updated. Am I looking to the wrong page?

Has anyone heard back from the waitlist yet? Seems like the deposit deadline was last week, we should have expected some movement by now? Is the class over-subscribed at this point? Anyone? Insights?

got accepted off the waitlist last Friday when someone from the Sloan ad com called me, got the official confirmation email on Monday. i was waitlisted all the way back from Round 1 and i had initially replied that i would be willing to wait until July. the ad com said they wanted to get back to me now since it was coming up on my "deadline". however, i've already made the decision to attend Wharton so i let them know that i will not be accepting their offer of admission. hopefully that frees up a spot for someone else.
