Natural Protein is better than Protein Powder.

Support/Strengthen

A) Some natural food sources are less expensive than most protein powders.- OFS as Cost is not discussed
B) Protein consumption can be maximized with a high protein to calorie ratio, and adequate protein consumption is important for increasing muscle mass.
This is part of the premise - Already stated.
C) The speed of absorption of protein powder is much faster than that of natural foods, and sustained protein absorption is critical for increasing muscle mass.
Sustained protein absorption is required and not fast protein absorption and supports the argument
D) Eggs contain a unique kind of protein that many protein powder manufacturers try to imitate with their formulas.
- OFS
E) Some natural foods, such as simple carbohydrates, do not effectively aid muscle growth.
- OFS

Kinji,
C cannot be the answer-Nowhere is the argument saying that natural food aid sustained protein absorption and we can't assume this. So the closest would be D.

The question stem says "Which of the following, if true,"

So along with the premise the option C) adds information that says natural protein is absorbed much faster instead of sustained absorption which is critical to increase muscle mass.

I think you are not getting my point- Nowhere is it given that sustained protein absorption is associated with natural foods and we can't assume this. If the answer is indeed C, then its a very poor question IMO.

The argument is only talking about 2 kinds of protein, protein from whey powder and protein from natural foods. The conclusion states that natural food protein is better without giving any information as to why it is better.

Answer choice C gives us new information that supports the conclusion. Choice C compares the speed of absorption between protein power and natural foods, saying that protein is faster and therefore natural foods are slower. Since natural foods are absorbed at a slower rate, that the absorption is "sustained" for longer periods. Since sustaining absorption is critical for increasing muscle mass, natural foods are better than whey protein -- thus strengthening the conclusion.

That's true bodybuilders often go for whey protein for muscle building purpose and there is almost no harm in using whey protein as it is prepared through natural ingredients. There are number of other bodybuilding supplements that bodybuilders use such as Creatine, Casein and Aminos.

Bodybuilders often try to increase muscle mass by consuming whey protein powder. Such whey protein powders have a higher protein to calorie ratio than most natural foods. Natural food protein sources, such as eggs or lean meats, are better for increasing muscle mass than whey protein powders.

Which of the following, if true, would provide the most support to the argument to the left?

A) Some natural food sources are less expensive than most protein powders.
B) Protein consumption can be maximized with a high protein to calorie ratio, and adequate protein consumption is important for increasing muscle mass.
C) The speed of absorption of protein powder is much faster than that of natural foods, and sustained protein absorption is critical for increasing muscle mass.

One of the most interesting questions lately. Thread about is very interesting for me, because I am tried to improve my muscles. I understand that this story is not funny, I really would like share with it. All my life I were skinny and a lot people said me that I should to get more muscles. After one year of single trainings, I decided ti take a coach. It was my best decision, he taught how to combine SARM's and sport to get really nice results in a few time and where to order the best products. He just sent me the link to articles on https://thblack.com/best-sarms/ . I have the shape from my dreams now

This is my understanding of the question:

The quest stem says which of the following statements if true supports the argument to the left?
To the left does not talk about the main conclusion but the opinion that the whey protein is better.

And C strengthens is the only option that strengthens this counter conclusion.

Though it is my take on the question, I believe I am correct. If you feel that I understood the Question wrong, Please enlighten me.
