Any feedback in terms of performance versus other prep CATs? How are people faring in relation to how they fare in other prep tests (i.e., GMATPrep, Kaplan, MGMAT)? Thanks.

These are predominantly Hard Math Questions.
They are not designed to make you feel good or get a nice shiny practice score. Your score will be painful and you will be humbled by the questions - please do not take it personally.
These questions and tests were created to help those with Q45 to get to Q50 and find all the gaps in their know knowledge.

The Verbal and Math are split into two separate categories.
There is no AWA or IR junk.

You can also take the questions in a quiz mode. Here is my view of the latest interface (notice the question count represents only the questions I have not taken yet). This feature will be available Midnight on Wed Thursday.

Great explanation, BB. Sounds very appealing. Does anyone have any opinions about their own outcomes that either agree or contradict BB's take on them? Please feel free to share specific numbers, unless the test is that demoralizing.

Yup, pretty demoralizing. Not sure what was worse, my results or how my results stack up.

I would say if you can get to the 25th percentile, you are doing pretty good...
And apologies - there are way too many people who are quant-gifted around here.

No need to apologize. I would like to improve my quant score on the GMAT (47), but I wouldn't deem it deficient. To the contrary, exceeding some benchmark (i.e., the one you just threw out) makes me feel much better. That being said, the percentage (in)correct makes me feel a bit bad.

HI bb

One simple doubt, does the GMAT presents a mixed bag of questions, I mean once 8 of first 10 questions get right and than starts the real game suppose if i get next few questions wrong, will i continue getting harder question or the level will be dropped to 650 level......
if i continue answering harder question , is it likely that i ll get simpler question i mean 650 , 600 or only 700 level.
In a nutshell is the test on Quant staggered or one is deemed to get only harder question if he continues to answer questions correctly.

Hellu!

I´m one of them who tried the GMAT CLUB free tests and got a suprise from the difficulty of the quant-questions. It will be great when it´s time for that final practice.
However, I scored suprisingly well in the verbal section (V43). I just wonder if someone can estimate how accurate the verbal gmat club tests are to other prepsoftware and the actual gmat? More or less difficult or similar?

The free verbal test is NOT a CAT - it is a linear sequence of questions, so the result is not adaptive and hard to estimate. We have created this test a while ago just to give folks a feel.
it is generally and average difficulty questions for the verbal (unlike quant).

Okay, thanks for the reply!
That explains it I guess, the questions didn´t seem to increase in difficulty much.

i really want to purchase this but 80 dollars seems so high, especially when there are an abundant amount of free resources everywhere, like 6 Kaplan CATs for 25, 6 Mgmat CATs for >19 ( assuming you just buy their books)

would you consider lowering the price, or give special student discounts lol, maybe more people will buy and your profit will be higher??

BB,

Does this hold true for the Free Quant adaptive test?? I got Q27 22%ile(Although i did it without any pen and paper) and guessed many as well just felt tired after ques 20, could have got 5-7 more correct but anyways, how much do you think this score will transfer on gmat prep or real gmat exam??

There is definitely a mixed message going on here. That's the old tests page. Are the new tests and the old tests the same? Does the new page have the "100+ new questions" and the old does not, or what? Thanks!

Yes, it is a bit mixed. The new tests are adaptive. The old ones are not.

Please access the tests here: https://gmatclub.com/tests_new

bb are the new tests adaptive? I'm sorry if I sound naive here, but even after getting three 700-LVL Qs correct in a row (only revealed at the end of the test), when I see a 500-LVL Q, it scares the hell out of me. And it just throws questions at me with random difficulty levels, so not sure if it's as per the actual definition of "computer adaptive".

Would be happy to have your comments on this.

The tests are adaptive. There are questions there put to scare the heck out of you because your job is to focus on each question individually rather than get scared or think about your overall performance and that prepares you better for the real test experience where you will be scared by a variety of questions: hard or easy.

Adaptive GMAT Club Tests are Here! [#permalink]
Hi guys, so I just did my first CAT Quant test here on GMAT Club and I wonder how you guys design the adaptive algorithm and would the actual test follow a similar adaptive pattern ?
The reason I asked because when I checked my performance I see that there are times when I make 2-3 correct 700 in a row and the test give me a 500 question instead of keeping it at 700. In the case this is similar to real test, what happens if I mess up the 500 question, will the test still give me hard question or drop me back down to 500-600 ? Thank you

Edit: So I saw you guys comment that the 500 are thrown in to make me panic a bit but I'm still curious whether the real test will do this to me. Thank you
