Re: Harvard 2013 (HBS) - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
Hi,

I have been looking at the HBS application form, and was wondering what the point of the separate "Employment" and "Extracurricular Activities" sections was, especially when the resume covers all the relevant information? These sections also appear to be non-required/optional. Is it okay to leave these out (without risking a rejection)? Thanks.

Anyone applying or applied from Osmania University, India? We have 7 semesters and a transcript for each semester. But there is a space to upload only one document in the application? Should I just upload the consolidated transcript? The risk with consolidated transcript is that am not sure what "official transcript" the university would send. Anyone uploaded the consolidated transcript?

Re: Harvard 2013 (HBS) - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
When I try to submit the HBS application, I receive the error that I have not listed my AWA scores.
The AWA scores have not arrived yet, so there’s no score to insert. However, HBS does not allow me to submit the application unless I insert a score. That’s weird since they also say that you can also submit unofficial scores only (which do not include an AWA score). Any idea how to tackle this? I tried inserting a non-number but it doesn’t work, they require numbers.

I would really appreciate a quick reply as I need to submit the application by tomorrow.

elgreco1 ,
AWA. Yes, we know that you won't have this until you get an official score report. Just enter "0.0" on your application if your official score is not available before January 7.
From the director's latest post.

Hi everyone - any suggestions as to what to enter if I don't know the annual revenue of 1 of my internship employers. It's a private start-up and the management is not willing to publically share this information. I have to enter a number on the application otherwise it is incomplete

On the login page of the application, you are asked to use the current date to signify ongoing activities, however in the app it says current employment end date should be left blank. which should we follow?

Also my undergrad grades were reported on a semester and cumulative basis only, not yearly. So i don't have yearly grades on my transcript. Should i calculate yearly averages or just leave the fields blank?

i left the current employment end date blank, and also did not calculate the yearly averages. it wasn't absolutely required. good luck!

Harvard, due in 90 minutes, asks for 1 GMAT score. My 2 tests are 45Q/41V for 710 and 47Q/40V for 700. Which do I report? I am leaning towards the 700 but am not sure which is better in their eyes. Thanks!

First off, good luck! Second off, know that they will ultimately see both on the official score report.

That said, I don't think there is a right answer. I'd probably go with the 700, since the statistical difference between 700 and 710 is negligible, but the difference between 45 and 47 for quant isnt.

Just my 0.02, though.

Personally, I'd report the higher one. They are going to get the GMAT score report with all your scores from the last five years anyways.

Just submitted my application. Have a doubt -

My recommenders have not been able to submit their recommendations yet..
The deadline for the current round just got over.. Does anyone have an idea whether there is a 2-3 day margin for submitting recommendations? The website says that "It is your responsibility to ensure that all required recommendations are submitted by the deadline date for the round in which you apply."

Wow that was stressful. The stupid website kept blowing out my drop down selections on my employment history. I had to log out and log back in to get it to work, and it still wouldn't show up on the page. At least it showed up in my application proof.

Submitted with 4 minutes to spare, woohoo!

Hi all, I have just submitted my HBS app and in a hurry, I did not notice the 12 font requirement and have put both my essays in 11 font. Can someone advise me if this will damage my chance at HBS in someway? Would really appreciate a response to cool me down. Thanks.
