hi everyone, i'm going to apply for mba in HBS during the 3rd round and actually studying for gmat right now and planning to take it close to the deadline. Therefore i would like to ask you what do you think would be the deadline for taking gmat, in order to be in time for HBS MBA 3rd round application?
Thanks in advance!

Good luck in R3.

I took the GMAT ~4 weeks before the R1 deadline. This gave me enough time to receive the AWA and IR scores, which I believe are required for HBS. This also gives GMAC enough time to submit your official scores to the school. I think my scores went ~3 weeks after I took the test, so I wouldn't take any less than 3-4 weeks before the deadline.

If this is not possible, you might consider calling the school to see if they will accept unofficial scores (the printout you receive immediately following the test) and no IR or AWA scores at the time of submission. I'm not sure if anyone else already tried this with HBS, but some schools do not have a problem with it.

If it were me - I'd shoot for ~4 weeks before the deadline just to remove that additional stress from the mix.

Again - best of luck!

Have people received physical offer letters? Got mine today - love the fact that its just a letter and a binder with a notepad! Nothing fancy...awesome!

Ah! I'm jealous!! I have been out of town since ~ a week after the decisions came out. I finally head back home today and I'm looking forward to reading the real letter!

I'm going to be blunt here - unless you have already finished the rest of your application and you are extremely confident your will nail it in the first go, I do not think this is enough time. R3 is a tough round as it is, and you are not leaving yourself much room for last-minute corrections. I guess you could always give it a go and just reapply next year if things don't pan out, right? At least you would have the GMAT out of the way early...

Hi all - question for those accepted in Round 1: when is the decision/deposit due date required for HBS? I'm a waitlist for Round 1 and want to see how this date compares to the Round 2 decision date. Thanks.

I just realized I never got the amazing call from Dee - only the call from my interviewer. I wonder what the selection criteria is there....

I'd blame it on the holidays. I certainly am applying in R2! :-D

Edit: And now I have! Good luck to everyone else!

Hi guys,

I only did my GMAT a week ago and haven't received my AWA and integrated reasoning scores yet.
As an international student, i'm pretty desperate to make sure my submission is in R2.

When i was keying in my unofficial scores on the HBS MBA website, they kept prompting me for numerical values (i couldn't put NA) for the AWA and integrated reasoning category.
How can i still submit in R2 without having these scores?

With the deadline so close, does anybody have any advice?

Might be worth an email/call to admissions with the deadline being so close. You might also try using a different browser to input this section of your app.

I just saw a new FAQ post from Dee on the HBS website. She said to use 0.0 if you do not have the official scores yet.

Good luck!

On the login page of the application, you are asked to use the current date to signify ongoing activities, however in the app it says current employment end date should be left blank. which should we follow?

Also my undergrad grades were reported on a semester and cumulative basis only, not yearly. So i don't have yearly grades on my transcript. Should i calculate yearly averages or just leave the fields blank?

When I am did my app, I just calculated it on my own. Not sure if that is legitimate.
