Thanks for confirming...There goes all my hopes for Sloan :(

Why would you say that?

Two reasons:

1. Mumbai slots are already full.
2. Mumbai interviews are on 11 and 12. Since Sloan gives at least 1 week time before interview, it means the calls for India should have gone by now.

Sorry if I'm just thinking too much...

I pretty much agree with you. I have already given up hopes for MIT and started preparing my Round 2 applications. I recommend you do the same. :x

Well, in that case there is time till early next week. I've heard that only as many interview slots are opened as necessary, although that may not be the case.
What you need is hope my friend... I think its time to go see Gravity :)

Are you sure all Mumbai slots for 11/12 are full?

I think MIT has announced interview invites will be sent from Oct 25 to Nov 8. Fingers crossed!

This endless waiting is terrible.

Why Sloan would announce interview invitations untill November 8 and send out all the invitations in the first 5 days?

Hope and faith are still on...but I think in my case this boat is sinking....

for all hopefuls out there without an invite yet like yours truly, feel free to join me in believing in the following: according to last year's forum, ~27% of R1 applicants reported an invite; to date, only 10% of applicants on this year's forum have reported invites (read: if you've been invited to interview and haven't updated your status, please kindly do so at your earliest! :) ). if we factor in a time delay between receiving the email invite notification and changing one's application status on GC, I *think* we can deduce that half of the invites have gone out and the other half will be released through next week...

(while i have the floor) regarding any intel we can glean from available interview slots: we have no idea (or do we?) if an "unavailable" slot is due to another applicant choosing the slot or to MIT not opening the slot for choosing. as you can tell, I'm glass-half-fulling my current situation and believe that the number of unavailable slots could be a mix of those taken-by-other-candidates AND those not-yet-opened-by-MIT!!

good luck to all!

This is the mind set of someone deserving to go to Sloan or any top B-School for that matter. And not "Someone else in my area got an invite and I didn't, I'm screwed." Frankly, I'm very surprised how many of the latter responses I see in this forum.

I agree with you kostyan5, it is the right mindset to have, do not give up until it's a done deal.

Good luck to antneey, I would want to sit next to you in the class!

Don't give up yet, there should be more invites coming this week. We stayed hopeful for so long, keep hopes alive for just few more days.

first, to fionaS, kostyan5, and dab: 'preciate the comments! would be an absolute pleasure to be your classmates.

second, after realizing our invite rate was much lower than last year's R1 (which i noted in my previous post), i decided to see what story some of the other classes/rounds told. using GMAT club roster downloads, here's what i found...

Very cool detective work on some old threads. I, too, am hoping that there are still many more invites to come! Although, it does look like there are a lot more R1 applicants this year (or maybe the # of gmatclub users is growing?)

Either way, best of luck to everyone!

Yes, seems that the amount of applicants shows an upward trend this year. In accordance with the estimation by WSJ.

More candidates, and hopefully schools would admit more.

Five round 1 with four (planned) round 2. It was pretty rough, but we'll see what happens. I'm a somewhat older applicant and I don't know if it would make sense for me to wait another year if this year doesn't pan out.
