Hi,

Is it true that all the interview slots in Mumbai have been taken ? Does this mean no more R1 interview invites would be sent to those who opted for off campus interview in Mumbai ?

Thanks,
r2k

Is Mumbai the only location where MIT is going to interview Indian candidates? Has MIT historically conducted interviews at ONE Indian city only every year?

just got my invitation to London (18-19.11)...
The mail arrived yesterday at 16:00 Central European Time and by 22:00 I reserved my spot. Whereas 80% were already taken. So I guess that by now most / if not all spots are taken for London R1.

Good luck to everyone and maybe we see us next year in Boston ;)

I wouldn't say that. Sloan says that invitations will go out through Nov 8, so you still five business days after today.

not a stupid question at all.

I think this year, the answer is yes. But last year, it didn't mean that because you could get waitlisted without being invited to interview (that was me last year.)

Someone else can maybe confirm.

for all hopefuls out there without an invite yet like yours truly, feel free to join me in believing in the following: according to last year's forum, ~27% of R1 applicants reported an invite; to date, only 10% of applicants on this year's forum have reported invites (read: if you've been invited to interview and haven't updated your status, please kindly do so at your earliest! :) ). if we factor in a time delay between receiving the email invite notification and changing one's application status on GC, I *think* we can deduce that half of the invites have gone out and the other half will be released through next week...

(while i have the floor) regarding any intel we can glean from available interview slots: we have no idea (or do we?) if an "unavailable" slot is due to another applicant choosing the slot or to MIT not opening the slot for choosing. as you can tell, I'm glass-half-fulling my current situation and believe that the number of unavailable slots could be a mix of those taken-by-other-candidates AND those not-yet-opened-by-MIT!!

good luck to all!

This is the mind set of someone deserving to go to Sloan or any top B-School for that matter. And not "Someone else in my area got an invite and I didn't, I'm screwed." Frankly, I'm very surprised how many of the latter responses I see in this forum.

I couldn't find any info on this..But I did not even find anything saying the waitlist process will work differently this year...Did you read/hear it somewhere?

No I didn't read it anywhere. I was just guessing that they wouldn't be waitlisting anyone without an interview because MIT is doing their interview invitations and decisions on a much tighter schedule this year. Last year, you could hear from Sloan anytime in a 1+ month span. This year, it's only a 2 week span.

But really, I am just speculating here. I have not read or heard anything official from Sloan.
