Hello everyone, congratulations on being admitted to the school! Already I see so many international profiles, amazing.

Myself, I am born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and then traveled through the US, Asia, and Europe for study and work. I am a brand strategist, who is tapping into innovation consulting these days. I will be there on the 5th and hope to meet some of you. For the rest, there is already a group for admitted students on facebook which seems the official one from admissions: https://www.facebook.com/groups/LBSmba2018/ I sent a request to join so hopefully we will soon be connected on there too.

Feell free to add me across the social networks.

Congrats to everyone admitted. Thanks ignatova for the link to the Facebook group. I've applied to join.

Unfortunately I can't make the Dec 5 event as it's a long way to travel on short notice for me. Would love to hear how it goes from those attending :) apparently there's another about weekend in May next year which I should be able to make.

Bit about me: I'm from NZ but spent my childhood in Singapore. I've been working in Marketing for 7+ years in various retail industries. Currently I specialize in digital marketing.

Looking forward to getting to know you and meeting you!

Hey everyone, congrats on the offer! Super excited to be part of this group. I'm from Taiwan but also grew up in the US. Have been going to school and doing consulting work in NYC for the past 8 years.

Are people outside of Europe going to the 12/5 event? Am debating whether I should go from NY but definitely a bit hard to plan only a week out and not to mention the cost of a last minute flight purchase.

Hello everyone!

A bit about myself: I am a lawyer from Vancouver, Canada. I started my own law firm/business consultancy straight out of law school that does corporate, regulatory and financing work primarily in the real estate and alternative energy sectors. That was the profile I applied with. A couple months ago I moved into a general counsel/CLO position with a client, a public company in the entertainment industry that operates across 6 continents. I am going to try to get to London for the 5th, but it just may not be possible, sadly.

I was looking at flight prices, it is $1k to fly from Vancouver, then according to expedia $2,200 to fly to Atlanta (what?!).

Alternatively, I fly to Atlanta from Vancouver for $250...

So the question is, unless cheaper flights materialize, is it worth $3,000 and 16 hours of flying to go to the LBS event on the 5th?

Fingers crossed for cheaper flights.

Congrats to all, it is indeed a great feeling to know that all the work we have done in our applications has paid off.

I am Marcelo, 28 y/o from Brazil. MBB consultant, I have been working a lot in the infrastructure and energy industries. I won't make it to the 5th as work never ends in infrastructure!

I'm definitely not going to make it. It would cost around $3000 as well for me, but more than 24hrs of flying one-way to get there from NZ. Plus I'm in alcohol retail so December is crazy busy.

Personally I think that while it would be nice to attend, it's ok to miss this one if it's too difficult to get there as there will be another next year in May (22nd from memory). At that one we'd meet more of our future classmates, since by then R2 and possibly R3 applicants would attend.

Hi all,

Congrats to all those admitted! I have just been accepted to the MIF prog myself. I understand that this thread is for the MBA class, but since its a tad quiet in the MIF thread, unlike the MBA one, I'm hoping that I can find out more/and share about London accom and course funding!
Hope you guys don't mind me joining in here as well!

Congrats on getting accepted to the MIF program! I'm sure none of us would mind given that at some point we might potentially be meeting you at a student club event :). As I understand, the clubs are a mix of people from the different programs.

I've been having a look at accommodation in London and the horrendous prices. I really hope I do end up getting some sort of scholarship to help fund things!

Hi guys, nice meeting you all, really really excited to be in London next year as well

A little bit of background on myself - I'm Haina, born in China, grew up in London, completed highschool in Hong Kong, college in Los Angeles, currently working in a consumer insights and brand strategy agency in SG/HK for 4 years, but also get to travel extensively across SEA. Although I spent a small part of my childhood in London. I haven’t really been back since and always hoped to return and experience this amazing city as an adult :)

Won't be able to make it to London next week (argh, work!) but hopefully can catch up later with those who attended. Looking forward to hearing your experiences!
