Someone above said they talked to admissions today and they said there are more invites today.

ouch..yea i scrolled back to page 17 for oct16 posts. they were all dings....#facepalm

back to work, productivity goes up from here.

speaking of patterns - i went back to 2015 intake post for R2 results.

on the last day (feb 4), some invites got sent out post 4pm CST. Some dings got sent out much later in the day. so hang in there!

Ding - but why? Because they have already got enough Chinese male from R1?

College in China, 3.9/4, No.1 in class
Master in Econ, Top 10 US University, 3.7/4
Strategy Consulting (Not MBB, but quite decent) in US, 2 yrs up to now
GMAT 760, Passed all CFA exams; Recommendations should be strong; essay should be fine

I understand your frustration. That said, you have a lot to be proud of.

Admissions has changed at top schools given unlimited GMAT re-takes, pushing non-URM stats into the stratosphere. There was an article on P&Q re: HBS's shift in admissions. Now that all of the non-URM's have 730+ GMAT's, it's really fickle how you can differentiate yourself (e.g. tear-jerker essay).

That is a lot to be proud of! How are you with displayed leadership, community involvement, effort to get to know people from Booth? I know Booth is strong on the right fit. Did you express that? You say your essay should be fine, but that was in your control to be great. Maybe some of these areas were lacking? If not, then I really don't know. Based on your previous accomplishments, it sounds like you will continue to be very successful anyhow.

Thank you for your reply. There must be something I didn't do well in the application package. However, it's a shame declined applicants will never have a chance to figure out where the problem is. Good luck with your application too.
